Hey DPF,

Disney Animation Studios today released the first teaser trailer of the movie 'Frozen'.

Anyway do you think when they release these pins they will be as popular as the two last Disney Animation Studio films Tangled and Wreck it Ralph??

The elk in the clip sort of reminds me of Maximus, and the Snowman is just awesome!

Oh, my gosh, that was absolutely adorable. I really hope this movie is done well, The Snow Queen is my absolute favorite fairytale of all time. I would be very interested in collecting princess pins if/when they offer Elsa and Anna.
 
regarding pins for this movie...

there will in all likelyhood be:

  • DSF release ((if they play this at El Capitan))
  • 4 pin booster pack with the basic characters *the princess, the guy, the snowman, and maybe the elk or the snow queen*
  • Open edition of the princess
  • MAYBE an OE of the snow queen....
  • LE opening day of the movie.
  • WDI pins are likely.
  • DSUK may do a pin for the movie release in europe.
  • DLRP might get it's own booster pack and OE pin(s)

That sounds very accurate. Do you think they might do a Disney Store set?

I think there is a possibility they will have a ds.com set. with the current trend on ds.com to do 5 pin LE sets for around $129.00 chances are if they do, it will be exactly that. :(

a 5 pin set would be nice from ds.com. have the princess, the snow man, the elk, the guy, and the queen. :)
 
I'm sure it's gonna be popular. Hopefully the Marquee has some cool ice looking theme to it like icicles or something the makes it unique.
 
I have no idea if this movie will be popular or if the pins will be as desired as others, but I am really excited for this movie and the pins. I already love the characters and the voices of the characters make them that much better. I hope they have a lot of OE pins or a disneystore.com release so I don't have to rely on DSF and ebay.

It's going to be the very first movie I take my grand daughter to see. I can fly down cheaper than pay the high price that I think these pins will bring. All I have to do is pack perfume, under arm stick, toothbrush & paste , hair spray and my brush, a sleeping bag and pillow. LOL In all seriousness I think my bones are too old to hook the streets as Prince Eric would say. LOL

I know we don't know each other, but I'll buy you a boxed airplane lunch, an extra bag of peanuts, and a mini bottle of alcohol of your choice (plus the cost of the pins) if you can get me a set of whatever pins they come out with. That should make up for your three day campout, right? Anyway, I hope you can get the pins without having to catch a flight to DSF. Are you planning on trying to get a set for your granddaughter to remember her first movie?
 
LOL, Yes I am. This is going to be my very first try as a completist. Doesn't look like I will have to do the 3 day camp out if DSF follows through with the wristband and lottery system.

I am excited for the movie, but I cannot see myself wanting the pins for it thankfully. Very few movies get me so hyped up BEFORE they are released that I start collecting the pins before even knowing if I'll like the movie. Wreck-It-Ralph is the only recent Disney movie that comes to mind because that hits closer to home for me considering I love video games.

That being said, I cannot wait to see what pins will be made using Frozen. I'm actually less excited for the standalone Frozen pins and more excited for the possible princess sets. For years now, Disney has made many great 6-pin Princess/Prince sets or pins that have featured 6 of them on the pins. During the early 2000's most pins consisted of these iconic 6:

- Ariel
- Snow White
- Belle
- Aurora
- Cinderella
- Jasmine

sure there were some sets that deviated from that main 6 by replacing one here or there with a newer princess but FINALLY Disney will now have another set of 6 official Disney princesses. I cannot wait to see what sets they make with them, the other 6 are:

- Mulan
- Tiana
- Rapunzel
- Pocahontas
- Merida
- Anna

I really wish Disney would continue some of its great lines, the DisneyShopping.com Stained Glass sets or the WDI Thrill ride pins are my personal favorite but I cannot wait to see what Disney comes up with using another set of 6 ^_^

You made some good points there. Now you have me excited to see if Disney will make some sort of set just featuring just the "new" princesses.
 
I think Disney has the ability with this new movie to make some really fabulous pins. I hope they explore the whole ice theme and the colors of blue and white. These combinations can make some for some wonderful pins. I look forward to seeing what they come up with!

Your dream will be ruined if they include the snow queen as an official Disney princess.
