...are sure taking their sweet time.

Every year, they take a little longer to announce things like the lots and the PTN. But if they wait any longer than tomorrow, we won't get them in advance.

I wonder if they're just not doing the open PTN this year, since the PTN pins were RSPed off.

There wasn't an open PTN last year at the event was there? Probably won't be one this year either then.

Oh, was there not? I don't actually remember...maybe I left early. I thought last year was the year they announced it, like, super last minute.

no to my memory Jabberwocky is correct last years PTN at the event was registered guest only, like this year, and as for the PTN pins on the Rsp, they WOULD have been the pins for previous PTN at WDW earlier in the year, but due to,,umm over achievers at the Frozen ptn in spring we have not had any others since then so my guess <and that of some others> is that they were made and delivered and now on RSP . besides the area at the Coronado that is designated for PTN is way to small for just the guest of the event let alone a full on PTN . YEs we would all like the info out earlier, AS of now are all waiting to hear about the use of carts at the event.
Security at WDW has said they will not allow carts<pull behind you wagons to hold pinbags or boards> this year, event services says that it is security call and they will be sending out an email to all guests saying so,but as of this am no email, if they wait any longer many out of FL traders will be showing up with wagons only to be told at the turnstiles "no you cannot bring that in the park"
This is the exact same policy as in DLR so while new to us here some folks will not be surprised.
SPREAD THE WORD , NO WAGONS AT WDW, SO NO ONE IS LEFT AT THE GATES WONDERING HOW TO GET THIER PINS TO THE EVENT!!

The year before (2012) there was a PTN on Thursday and that may have been the last minute announcement one - but having the non-registrants there allowed for more trading opportunities on Thursday. A shame that seems to be a permanent cutback.

Also a shame the majority of the auction lots haven't been announced and it's the day before registration starts! (I think some were previewed a few weeks ago though, right?)

And they really need to let people know exactly what will or won't be allowed into the event before as Lucan444 noted they get stopped at the gate and have to do what? Return to their hotel with their pins and miss time at the event?

per the official WDW page here at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/parks/restricted-personal-items/

get out your measuring tapes!!!

You may not bring the following types of items into the theme parks:
  • Wagons
  • Skateboards
  • Scooters
  • Inline skates
  • Shoes with built-in wheels
  • Strollers larger than 36" x 52" (92 x 132 cm)
  • Suitcases, coolers or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" (61 cm) long x 15" (38 cm) wide x 18" (46 cm) high. Coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations.
  • Any trailer-like object that is pushed or towed by an ECV, wheelchair or stroller
  • Wheeled mobility devices with less than 3 wheels and devices that cannot maintain stability and balance when stopped, unpowered or unoccupied. Training wheels or similar modifications are not permitted

...

I am SUPER annoyed by this tendency they have recently to punish people with carts at these events. I have a big problem with how they treated cart people last PTN due to this issue. I know those particular rules are for in-park specifically, but I am concerned about what happened last PTN, and how it might spread to this event.

We can't pin trade without our pins- This is the ENTIRE REASON WE'RE HERE! And as far as ESPN goes, they need to change that venue for PTNs. It's a disaster even without the cart issue. The only thing it has going for it is the snack bar.

Also, randomly-way to punish people for spending tons of money on your merchandise.

Sighhhhhhhhhhhhh. Let's hope that scrap-booking carts and grocery carts make the cut with those rules. Not going to get worried until we have a more solid reason to be so. I think they'd have a big problem if they tried to say no carts of any kind, because the vast majority of us coming to this event have so many binders and bags that we HAVE to have something to haul them in...

Abyssinian,
As was suggested elsewhere STROLLERS are perfectly legal, and as is done at DLR to combat the wagon rule many traders bring strollers loaded with pin books. it is a shortcut admitted, but may be a way around the wagon rule. just putting it out there for the masses.

LOL! True. Just seems to be a waste of money when we all already have carts...especially since I don't have kids.

That would be a fun trip to the store, though.

"Can I help you, Ma'am?"

"Yes....I need a stroller that can hold several hundred pounds."

Go with a double stroller for twins! Strollers used to be free for those with a Disney Visa card but they cancelled that perk a few years ago
