Get to Know: DLR Map & Mini Pin GWP Collections

In the early years of Official Disney Pin Trading, Disneyland encouraged pin sales via a Gift with Purchase (GWP) program. For every $15 spent on pins, buyers would receive a free mini pin and themed paperboard map for display. Pins were released on the 1st Sunday of the month, available while supplies last.

The map & pin program concluded in 2009, although GWP programs continued. A total of 117 pins and 19 collections were released. The minimum purchase increased to $20 with the 2005 Original Lands collection. To $25 in the final year starting with the 2009 Haunted Mansion collection.

Wow, I love seeing these all together. I have e-ticket thrills, pirates of the caribbean compass (for trade), where evil spells are broken, and the haunted mansion. I have a ton of DL 50th pins and generally decided to not get the all roads lead to disneyland for the 50th celebration since I was more focused on gold pins. But when I see pics of the set online, it makes me want to change my mind and get it. Hmmm…

I remember those. We had the Tiki birds at one time.
I still have the haunted mansion set + I added the hidden mickeys to it.

I think I still have some of the boards too (no pins)
