In the early years of Official Disney Pin Trading, Disneyland encouraged pin sales via a Gift with Purchase (GWP) program. For every $15 spent on pins, buyers would receive a free mini pin and themed paperboard map for display. Pins were released on the 1st Sunday of the month, available while supplies last.
The map & pin program concluded in 2009, although GWP programs continued. A total of 117 pins and 19 collections were released. The minimum purchase increased to $20 with the 2005 Original Lands collection. To $25 in the final year starting with the 2009 Haunted Mansion collection.
