OK, time to play Devil's Advocate, as I had a situation come up today and I think that everyone needs to look at both sides of the coin here
I sent out requests last night for one of my POMHs, and I would like to think I sent fair requests.
Someone responded to one, and wanted to know the scene I had. As I was willing to accept the trade if they were willing, I sent them the picture and am waiting on a response.
About an hour later, I get a response that went into my spam folder on Gmail, and then a second e-mail from the same person about 4 hours later asking again if I was going to accept their offer. I politely told them:
And they responded, frustrated not with me per se but the situation referenced in this thread, which I had actually read last night and was not going to post, but now thought I might offer some pearls of wisdom I have learned in the 3 years of pin trading (not an expert by any means)
1) This is a hobby. It is meant to be fun! Not stressful. Once it is stress, it is not a hobby anymore
2) You might want to see if your replies are going to the Spam Filters of people. The person who responded second had their initial response to my TA get sent to my GMail Spam for some reason. That might be why you are not getting replies.
3) You should consider trying to respond earlier in the day if possible. I know I try to respond around 7:30-8:00 AM EST to requests I get, and sometimes I even miss out. That is the nature of the of this hobby sometimes, the early bird gets the pin.
The funny thing is, I have sent requests to some of people in this thread, never heard back; I have sent PMs to people who are consistently active on the site, and never heard back; and you know, I do not get upset or stressed, I just move on and try to trade with someone else.
Just my 2 cents
