Although I love the POMH pins, I feel that they don't display that well, and so I'm considering trading them to try to get more of the Beloved Tales pins.

I wanted to see what opinions everyone had on this as a potential trade and how fair it would be. I'm still not very good at suggesting trades, so any advice you would have would be appreciated!

Here are the scenes I have:
Cinderella- Fairy Godmother close up
Alice- Mad Hatter eating plate
Dumbo- Dumbo crying with mother's trunk around him
Jungle Book- Baloo & Mowgli
Peter Pan- Nana close up
Bambi- Bambi & Thumper

I think that is pretty reasonable. I'm kind of just guessing here, but these are the ones I'd think you'd have a decent chance at getting with those:

These might be a little tougher, but if your Bambi one is good you could get lucky with it:

These are still pretty much available so I'm not sure I'd trade PODM's for them:

I would probably hold out on the Aladdin Beloved Tales though, as I always see them listed under $20 on ebay and never seem to sell. I bought mine a few weeks ago on the bay for $11. Same goes for the Alice and the Peter Beloved tales. Always see them for about $20 and they never seem to sell for that much. Right now the POMH are hot and with the right scene you should be able to get HTF Beloved Tales IMO

Totally agree. The problem is that thus far the "right scenes" include Cinderella, Snow White, Peter, Tinker, Bambi, Alice, etc. As we are seeing with the Pinocchio pins, even if the character is a good one, when there are a lot of it, it isn't that hot. Like the Hatter and Nana for example...there were lots of great scenes of them so they are not in as high of demand. You've also got to look at the entire run as a whole. Peter Pan for example had tons of Nana and lots of rooftops and what was left was spread across all the other characters which gave the run a lot of variety and as a result making all the other character cells that much more rare/special. But on the other end of the spectrum you have the Pinocchio run which only feature two characters and not a lot of dud cells. Pinocchio is more rare than Jiminy, but there are still lots of good cells to go around.

Idk...it's complicated! Lol

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.

Mike, I almost had an Aladdin from eBay, but my stupid phone didn't send me the 15 minute auction ending warning and so I was outbid by 50 cents. I think it sold for $15.50 or so. Grr!

I will have a Pinocchio POMH soon also, as I signed up on Crystal's list. (Thanks Crystal!) So Erica, from what you've said, it sounds like even if I get one with Pinocchio in the scene, it would probably only get me one from the "easier" category?

I was recently at DSF and the beloved tales pins for Jungle book, Hercules and Hunchback were all available there as well as the new releases. They should be easily attainable.

Wow! That's shocking because they have been out for quite a while now!

It really depends on the cell. If it is a really nice shot of Pinocchio you will do better with it than if he is in a weird position or something like that. I can't really see a solo Pinocchio reaching the level of say a good Tink, but it still isn't anything to sneeze at (keeping in mind that IMHO at least a good Tink cell is worth more than any of the beloved tales pins). But this is just my perspective and I'm bad because I have been completely mesmerized by the PODM pins it it would be good to get other people's opinions as well.

Really? I'm sorry that happened :( I have seen several Aladdin BT pins listed over the past MONTH (One at $15 and one at $17.00) and they always ended without any bids. I figured it would stay that way for awhile. I'll keep an eye out for you if I see one posted again!!!

Wow, really? I picked up Hunchback from eBay, but would love to get the other two. They take orders over the phone, correct?

I basically agree with Erica's split. Although, I agree that Lion King should be moved from the easy tier to the hard one. I've been watching them fairly regularly, since Feb and the easy tier have gone many times in the $15-$25 range. The thing that makes it hard to judge is the ones from the hard tier, I've barely seen. I was able to buy the Dumbo, Dalmatians, Bambi, Lady & the Tramp and Pinocchio ones for less than $20 each, from Carolyn. But that was a special circumstance because she gave a discount to DPF members. I have seen some of those sell on Ebay, but only like once and I think it was in the $25-$35 range. But Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Robin Hood, Aristocats, Lion King...I've been watching and I haven't even seen them come up, let alone what price they would go for. Just checked, there was an Aristocats that sold for $46

I think most of the first half of year's PODM's would go for $30 at least. More if you have a really good scene, or depending on which movie. I'm a little unsure what the 2nd half PODM's will do. The movies don't seem to be as popular, so that might keep them depressed a little. I ended up getting a Pinocchio one after all, because my Mom called from WDW and since they were right there in front of her. She said they had a ton, and we're almost a week past release. DL'ers will continue to go mad for them, but there should be a good supply coming out of FL.

^^^I saw the Beauty and the Beast Beloved Tales go for $40-50 on an ebay auction a few months back. Then one sold here for $50 along with the Little Mermaid for the same price.

Woo hoo! Thanks to tiggeriffic's helpful tip, I now have Jungle Book & Hercules on the way to me!

As far as eBay goes, I bought Hunchback, Alice, Peter Pan, Sword in the Stone, Three Caballeros, Pocahontas, Ratatouille, and Sleeping Beauty BIN. I got lucky on a Fantasia auction; I was outbid but got a second chance offer the next day. I bid on a Dumbo a couple of weeks ago. It ended up going for about $66. I had no idea it would go that high! I also bid on the Aristocats pin that was recently up for auction, probably the one you mentioned went for $46. The only other one I've seen recently (listed now actually) is a Pinocchio BIN for $95! It had a Best Offer option also, so I submitted a lowball offer that I don't think is going to cut it, but you don't know until you try, right?

I also have Mulan on the way thanks to Erica.

So now I only need two from the revised "easy" set: Cinderella and Aladdin. So my next question is, would two POMH pins for one of the "hard" BT pins be an over trade? It seems like one won't cut it... but other than those my traders aren't very impressive. I have a few other decent traders but not many.

And thanks again for everyone's input, it's really helped me a lot!

Aren't the POMH pins more in demand than the BT pins? I bet you could do a one for one trade! :D like, a nice POMH pin for a "hard" BT pin! :) (I think, I'm not entirely sure) hope that helps!

I think in general, yes, they are more in demand. But I think it all depends on what scene you have. I feel like for the most part my scenes aren't that impressive since except for Jungle Book & Bambi I don't have the "main" character in my scene. I'm a dog person and so I love Nana in my Peter Pan pin but I think most people would want Peter (or Tink). So I just don't know.

Le sigh, I just don't think I'll ever get the hang of trading!

Ha! I think someone must be reading this thread. Someone just listed a Beauty & the Beast one with a BIN of $99.99 (or best offer).

On the POM pins in peter pan a tink scene seems to take the cake usually sells over $50 half of the time...

I had no idea the beloved tales were going to be wanted so much I had the chance to but a lot of them all in all i hope you get them soon,

Okay, so this listing just changed to this pin: Pin 48548: DisneyShopping.com - Jack Skellington & Sally Slipper

??? WTF ???

Yes, Tink goes anywhere from $30 to $60 for smaller ones up to around $150 for the ones where she stretches across the whole frame, but Pan himself is what seems to be highest now- he is going for $125 to $240(depending on what the cel looks like- him with the swans seem to be highest, probably because he is larger in the frame). The Pan ones in general seem to be the hardest to get a hold of good ones. I'd probably give almost anything on my trades list at this point for a great cel of Michael with Tink in his hand or one of Michael right up in front of the full moon.

I think it depends on the trader and the pin with the BT pins. I'm having real problems getting the harder to get ones. I offered the Aurora ptn plus any other pin(s) she wanted from my trades for Beauty and the Beast and was knocked back (and to be honest, the Aurora on it's own was over-trading for it in my opinion). I've offered good ptns for for each of them and nothing, along with many other decent pins. If you've got a particularly good scene you may get somewhere, but just prepare yourself as I've had friends trying to trade for these pins for me too and they've got nowhere either! I've asked what they're looking for so I can try to get what they want, but no response.

I got excited them when someone said B&tB was on ebay for $100! Bah. Probably just as well, can't afford it at the moment anyway.

I agree with Mackenzie, at the moment if you have a decent scene with Peter in you will get a lot more for it generally than a tink scene. I've watched many Peters go for over $200 easily but tinks don't normally hit $200. In my oppinion, POMH would be worth more than the BT at the moment just because they are so 'hot' or 'in trend', but then again, there is an abundance of the POMH pins on ebay compared to the BT pins.. It's really just a try and test situation, with any luck, you might get somewhere! :)
