Very interesting. The substitutions cost kind of irks me. But my hope is that this doesn't last too long. I enjoy sitting down and eating the ice cream when I go for a PTD-whatever-it-is-called-now, and there are some toppings I am not a fan of. I'd rather not suffer through something I don't like.

Ahhh, first world problems.

What is the price of the PTS sundae?

Yeah it sucks ):

I just added new info thanks for reminding me puch. lol

well... they do realize that sometimes the character is going to cause a line around the block right? lol

Do we know if the red pascal is still in stock?

I personally like the idea of a rotation for standard sundae. It will let us try different things, and keep them from running out of specific toppings when a huge crowd comes in for 3 days in a row.

Who told you you could substitute the sundae for $1? Two different people told me substitutions are not allowed, they won't let me do it...

So, confirmed with the store manager and a supervisor:
The pin trading sundae is the caramel sundae (vanilla ice cream, caramel topping, whipped cream, cherry and a sprinkling of nuts)
Although it may change, the supervisor thinks this is permanently the PTS.
You can not substitute anything in the sundae, it's strictly as-is. (And you and order a different one either)
You can request an ingredient to be removed (like, if you don't like caramel), but they will not allow you to add something different (like fudge), even for a cost.
One per person, per day.
You can, of course, opt for just the pin...

This is new to all of them (I didn't recognize most of the employees), so they may be giving incorrect info sometimes (I saw one guy buy two, for example), but those are the rules as stated by the manager. She then proceded to have a quick meeting with the register staff explaining it to all of them.

Hmm... not like this affects me in any way being in Florida, but I was really hoping you could have a choice of sundae to get the pin. I always felt bad for people only getting the same thing every few days (or more often). At least having a choice would allow for some rotation of flavors.

I think the soft opening did a fair job of demonstrating the kind of rush they should be expecting for a regular pin change that occurs during the week. I wonder if they are prepared for the absolute insanity that line will produce on a regular pin release?

At this point, I think they have chosen a sundae that they know they can quickly knock out. I still have my doubts that they will be able to handle the volume, if the LE sizes remain smallish. My best hope is that they request the LE sizes be increased to offset the rush/volume.

Here's a couple of quick pics of the store:

First, from the front door:

Pins available for sale are all hanging on the blue pillar on the right. The display for new pins (currently just the PTD/PTS) is there as well.

Turning to the left to see the ice cream counter:

I was told you could add toppings for $1 (not change which sundae you get, but add toppings to the PTS for $1 each).

Also, I was told no discounts on the PTS.

I talked them into adding Fudge to mine for $1, but was then informed that it would not normally be allowed. I think it's just that normally you can add a topping to any sundae for $1, and I suspect the cashiers weren't aware of the limits imposed on the PTS sundae. Depending on the employee, these rules may fluctuate due to not remembering/knowing about them, but the official policy is strictly 'as-is' (removal of ingredients only).

I wasn't able to get any discount with my annual pass today when I was there. I did not say I had a premium pass, but I asked several cast members if AP get a discount and all said not at this time. I wasn't able to change the vanilla ice cream for chocolate either, so you cannot change the sundae.

The shop looks amazing, I hope I get to go have a PTD sunday someday!!! :x: Preferably a Jessica one!

Hahaha, Same here. I really hope I can order a Pin Trader Delight Sundea. I visited LA 3 years ago, unfortunately I didn't know about the soda fountain then :ugh:(didn't start with Pin trading yet back then) For me Jessica looks amazing for the retro sundea style I think she will be the most perfect one. Although I will appreciate every pin, as long as it has a ice-cream/sundea on it :x:. Can anyone post a picture of how the new PTD sundea looks ? Did they really remove the Mickey sprinkles ? that really would be a shame as it was perfect matched with the sundea's on de pins.

lmao..... they think they are going to sell lots of ice cream and candy. The menu looks the same as the one they give you at DCA. I don't think many people are going to go there just for food and treats. Why would you. Its the same as you can get anywhere anytime. Its all about Disney. You can put any food brand in there and it wouldn't make a difference now. The only thing the new story dose is makes Disney look silly and like the are playing second fiddle to some candy brand. I guess its at least funny and will b neat to see over the years to come. Lucky for me I still know were to get all the old homemade stuff that was what helped start DSF. Sad that many people do not get to have it now and just get a carbon copy of something you can find all over the place.

No Mickey sprinkles. No marshmallow sauce. No hot fudge (yet). Same crappy sundae every time. Plain vanilla ice cream, caramel, plain vanilla ice cream, whip cream, chopped almonds, cherry, and the cheapest chocolate square Ghiradelli makes (no filling and thin and tasteless.)
