Have you ever found good yard sale, CL, etc deals?

This question is prompted by the fact that I just picked up a lanyard with 25 Disney pins for $25 from Craigslist! The funny thing is I can pinpoint this person's Disneyland trip as having occurred in November 2003, because there are 3 of the Zazu GWP map pins on it. :lol: These were the pins on it, and most have been added to my trades list.

I love the CD pins! Nice find! A couple years ago my mom (my family frequents flea markets/garage sales/antique shops) said she was at a flea market and there was a guy set up with 3 huge binders filled with Disney pins...$5 each. It pains me to even think about it, as no one in my family collected pins back then

I like to tell myself they were all fake to feel better :lol:

I have had great luck with both craigslist and yard sales! I always ask when I am at yard sales because you never know if they might have them left over from a trip. My best find was a lady at a yard sale that went inside and came out with 175 pins new on cards! I about fell over, especially when I asked her how much and she said "$1 a pin!" I was stunned. They were all older pins, most of which I kept in my collection, but I was able to make some amazing trades with them as well. Great find!

wow thats quite a find! i love the tigger pin!. we found these on a car boot once for 50p each! i've never seen any since though...

Went to a yard sale advertised on Craig's list a couple of years ago and got some GREAT deals. These were probably the best at $6.00 each.


Had I known what they were I would have grabbed all that they had, but I was busy getting all the great pins they had for $2.00 and $4.00 each. Good news is that other good pin trading friends picked up the rest of those little COM gems. (including this one)


I've never run across any more yard sales as awesome as that one was.

breagirl, That must have been awesome! I also got some pins at a garage sale in Oct when visiting my parents in Winter Garden. Being so close to the park, my parents have found some good stuff a few times. Once they got over 60 pins for $25. These were all from the first 6 months of pin trading at WDW, so there were some early surprise pins, and POMs. But living so far from the parks, I haven't had this good of luck before. Occasionally, find a DL 30th anniversary give away pin for a buck or two; works for a trader. But that was about it.

lucky people! Ive never found any pins might start have to look around for garage sales etc but might be a bit pointless in Ireland XD

Finding Disney pins at a garage sale is my dream, right below finding a priceless work of art. : ) That way I can just buy the Disney pins. I did find Pin 4190: WDCC - Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumiere & Cogsworth (3 pin set) at a thrift store and got it for a good price.

I am still waiting for my day I have to say I haven't been out to garage sales but will definately have to start frequenting them especially if they say anything Disney lol. Show up and cross my fingers!

oh I did get the Disney Store Snow White and Dwarfs set at an antique for 1.50 for all 8 pins
The cashier thought I was nutts for buying them...

Just last week I went into a local thrift store and for the second time I found 100 mickeys. I have found pins at yard sales and thrift stores. I have not tried Craigs yet.
