Hi everyone!
My name is JJ and I’m a Disney pin collector based in China, with Shanghai Disneyland as the main focus of my collection and Disneyland Paris as a secondary focus.
I previously studied in the United States, and I still occasionally travel to Austin, Texas. I hope this will give me more opportunities to meet collectors from different parts of the world and participate in international trades.
What attracts me to Disney pins is not only the characters, but also the stories behind each release: where the pin came from, whether it represents a particular park, attraction, celebration, or season, and how it fits into a larger collection. I especially enjoy Zootopia-themed releases, Alice, Stitch, Duffy and Friends and park-specific designs. I’m also very interested in pins created for Chinese holidays and seasonal celebrations, particularly Lunar New Year, the Mid-Autumn Festival, and Shanghai’s season-themed releases. For Disneyland Paris, I enjoy its distinctive designs and limited-edition pins, many of which have a style that feels quite different from releases at other Disney destinations.
One of the main reasons I joined DPF is to meet more collectors outside China, learn from experienced traders, and gradually build long-term and trustworthy international trading friendships.
Information about Shanghai Disneyland pins can sometimes be difficult to find outside China because it is often spread across Chinese social media, park shops, and local collector groups. Please feel free to ask me about Shanghai Disneyland pin releases, including release backgrounds, park exclusivity, original retail locations, availability, or how certain pins and series are viewed by local collectors. I’m not an official source, but I’ll always be happy to share what I know and help clarify information about SHDL pins.
Pin trading activities at Shanghai Disneyland may not be as active or as structured as those at some of the U.S. parks. However, if anyone is planning a visit to SHDL and would like to trade, please feel free to contact me. Depending on the timing, I would be very happy to arrange an in-person meetup at the resort and exchange pins, information, and collecting experiences.
