Heroes & villains collection first look
Last night was such an adrenaline rush. Thankfully the releases for the rest of year can be handled in store from now on. I went to get a pamphlet from my Ds today and to look at the display im very very happy with this set. Even elsa was seriously lacking in the promo pics looked awesome in person! Cant wait to get them!

The more I think about it, the happier I am I decided not to order anything this morning. I LOVE that there is finally a Peter Pan for the LE collection, but after seeing pictures and reading the thread I will just wait for November 3rd. :)

Yeah, really low quality control. On the top corner of the website, I see, and I quote:

"Yippee! It's, Elphaba from D23! Check out our D23 Boutique."

Now, I didn't go to D23, but I can forgive them since I did have the free membership level. But that comma irks me every time, and it's been like that for days. They also seem to be held up on their shipments. I've been waiting a long time for a status update on a recent one.

I've noticed problems with shipments too. I didn't order any of the new merch (hoping to still be able to get some mugs and journals in a couple of weeks), but I went ahead and order the park pin pack when it came out earlier in the month. They took the funds last week and sent a shipment update a day or so after that. The problem is I don't have the package yet and the tracking info isn't right. It states the package was sent and delivered in June to New Jersey, I live in FL, so totally all around incorrect. I sent an email explaining everything and asking for correct shipping info and got a useless reply, so I sent another explaining that wasn't helpful and why. They sent a reply telling me to call them. I also rec'd a vm from them today stating they rec'd my email and saw the tracking was for another package I rec'd in June and my order was cancelled and should call them about it. Totally wrong again. At this point, I'm just going to wait to get the package and if it takes more than a week from the date they took the money, then I'll waste more time to work it out. They really have some of the most useless customer service. The probably train them to just close cases as quickly as possible with disregard to actually helping people.

Also, I ordered my first pin pack last month (I know they don't seem popular anymore, but I'm new to pin collecting/trading and just got my nieces and nephew into it, so I wanted to try the packs for a bit). It was stated as back ordered until the end of the month, so I didn't really think about it any more, but it just showed up on my door one day a couple weeks early. I though I missed the blast off email, but it came a few days after the package arrived. They really seem to be having some problems. I'm a little concerned about the upcoming doll releases.

What a stupid website. They couldn't even put my name at the top. They literally left it empty with a line!
Also, let's wait to see how long it takes for this order to ship. What a joke!

So I sent them an email telling them that I was not gonna be able to recieve the package and that the order would just sit outside. I was very polite and ended my email by saying "I didn't just spend $170 on merchandise that will get damaged because of how long they've stood out in the sun".

This was their response:

Upon reviewing your order, I see that resolution is already underway per an earlier email conversation.
Ummm... What resolution? Oh! You mean the " we are unable to make any changes to your order". That's a nice resolution.

Have a nice day my ***.

So I totally blew it. I mentioned to my fiancé about the doll release and he looked at them online and was like I would have bought those for myself and then probably given them to you. :eek2:And then I went to the disney store to see if they had lithographs and the dolls are awesome.

Oh no! At least maybe this means you can get them individually?

Yeah, I might. I also might just get the two I was looking at getting and peter pan because he really liked that one. My store didn't get any lithographs they are supposed to come in tomorrow according to the cm. I might swing by in the morning and see if they got them in.

After seeing the dolls in store today, I've decided to pass on the entire wave. These are really disappointing, and I think it has a lot to do with the way they're presented in the boxes. The Snow White set is nice, but they look ridiculous displayed. The Peter Pan set has quite a few issues despite my initial excitement for it (srsly, what's going on with Hook's boots? That should never have happened!!!) And the rest of the dolls are so inferior to their 17" counterparts. I guess I should be relieved I won't have to drop all that money, but I was looking forward to collecting them. Oh well, there are plenty other dolls on the horizon.

One thing I don't like about this release is that the dolls are so crowded in the boxes. I think for the couples it was okay because they could pose them close together and it looks natural, but having the characters paired so close with their enemies just looks a bit odd. I saw the dolls displayed in the dioramas at D23 and liked them much better that way.

I am going to try and get 4 sets 2 for myself and 2 for my mom as a Christmas gift. The dolls do look really nice in person much better than the photos as usual. I do agree that they are a bit crowded in there but I can live with it. I am going to try online for Snow White, Ariel, rapunzel, and Elsa. Snow andnariel are for my mom and the other two are for me. Though hearing all these nightmares about online doll ordering makes me kind of worried...is it always like this? I managed to get the LE 17" Live action Cinderella fine

I've ordered several LE dolls online now and the only shipping mishap I've ever experienced was a small crease in LE Blue Aurora's box, but it always worries me when I hear about smashed dolls-or worse yet, the company's response to complaints about smashed dolls. I would feel a lot better buying them in-store if I could, but the nearest store is about four hours from home and completely unreasonable to drive to for each new product being released (especially this time of year with so many coming out around the same time).

Honestly I think it comes down to luck and how carefully your UPS driver handles packages. I have been horrified by pictures of completely caved in boxes and destroyed dolls when complaints happen on the store FaceBook page, so it's certainly not an uncommon issue. But Disney has never put any protection in the shipping boxes I've gotten either minus a thin sheet of plastic padding, and yet so far all but Blue Aurora have arrived in mint condition.

ANYTHING I order (minus clothing..) ALWAYS gets smashed upon delivery. Disney uses crappy flimsy boxes that if you sneeze on them they bend. It doesn't help that their idea of packaging is 1 bubble cushion and a thin piece of paper.

That was a surprise. Just got back from the only remaining Disney Store in my area. They have never carried the designer dolls. Just the 17". Had a display and will be selling them! So, that gives me a store chance and the online chance. And a happy Disney week to the rest of you!

I ended up returning the Frozen tote and came out with the Tangled shirt. It's so cute! When I stop in on Friday I'll grab the journal. I forgot to ask the manager I was talking to about the lithographs because I didn't see them at all and they usually get them too. This whole lithograph thing is very unusual.

I'm sorry to hear that :(. I'm glad I don't collect a lot of the dolls, as I can't afford to go for full sets and am only interested in owning certain characters. Even with that in mind though, I am running out of places to put Disney items in general so I can relate. I have no idea where I am going to put Peter and Hook. I am either going to have to sell some things or move them to different parts of the house, which isn't an ideal situation seeing I am still living with my parents. I guess that is why so many people are stressed out over the doll releases this year. I don't think Disney has ever released this many dolls in the same year before have they?

Boy do I feel the same way. I'm only 17 and still in high school, so it's hard to organize these dolls while keeping my room looking nice without looking cluttered. And I only have 2 17le dolls, and one designer, so it's hard to make space, especiallyy since I can't put these dolls in the direct sunlight, so they go on my dresser. At one point my designer doll was being kept in the closet since I didn't know where to put her! I can only get one more le 17in doll since that how much more room I have left. The only exception would be a live action le Belle, or another le Snow White, but that's it! Also not to mention I have a lot of plants in my room that take up space, so yeah that's my space issue!

Wow I'm surprised you rank Ariel/Urusla as the least favourite! Everyone I have showed pictures to say the Ariel one outshines the others, to me the rapunzel is my least favourite! But I can't decide if to get Rapunzel or Snow as I prefer Rapunzel as a character but think the snow set is slightly nicer.
That's interesting because I've read nothing but bad things about Ariel. lol

I have seen the pics taken in store and she still looks the nicest to me, if anything I think the snow and Rapunzel look worse in the store pics vs the promos, wereas Ariel is the only one I think looks better than the promo. I must say these are my favourite set off designer dolls overall, they seem more worth your money wereas the last two sets I only thought the princess's were nice and the princes just cheapend the set. Would rather pay £100 for a villain and princess than I would for a prince. These are not perfect though, but a few tweaks and change up the box poses and I think they will be so nice. At least none are as badly posed as Flynn and Rapunzel was lol.
So far I want to debox and Snow White and change the pose completely and give her nicer shoes, and maybe give Ariel her seashell bra depending on how I like the top in person and maybe add a sparking snowflake to Elsa's hand:)

I feel the same. But it's not strange that some people have different option.
Of course. I never meant there was something strange or wrong with their opinion. Just interesting since that's the only positive opinion I've heard about Ariel so far.

Ariel and ursula is my second favorite in the line.. I guess I just really like how different her design is compared to the other designer Ariel dolls. (Hoping we may see a human Ariel with Vanessa one of these days though!!)

It's usually only when people react negatively towards something that they feel the need to speak out. Positive comments are few and far between, and those that are positive tend to get hit with backlash (though fortunately we don't see any of that on this forum).
