Heroes & villains collection first look

Okay, I just saw a photo of Hook's boots. Now I know what everyone is talking about. Why does he only have half a boot? That is so weird and ugly. It looks like he has boot slippers.

This always makes me wonder how someone in the shipping department does not realize that their system just does NOT work. With all of the returns they must take back and pay for shipping, it always amazes me that something does not get done about it. I have returned my share of damaged merchandise due to lousy shipping/packing. You would think an empire like the Disney Store would have better shipping practices in place.

Here's what they look like the problem is that Disney didn't give him complete socks/leggings :/ making his boots weird looking

Here's another pic uhm I guess the boots could have been a little higher and tighter around his ankle. I'll be doing something about his leggings for sure. But for the price I think Disney should have definitely made socks/leggings covering his feet and legs.

Thanks for sharing this. Now I understand what they were trying to do. You're right though, the most jarring part is that bare bit of ankle/foot at the bottom. If they'd had the socks cover his feet it probably wouldn't have looked so odd.

Also, at least from the photos I've seen, the back of the shoe/boot appears to be cut further down than it is here, contributing to a slipper effect.

I will only be getting the Rapunzel and Gothel out of this set of dolls. I wasn't going to get any, but when I saw the Rapunzel one, I decided I had to! Anybody get the mugs and are happy with them? I'm considering getting the Elsa and Rapunzel ones, but I'd be buying online and spending US dollars so they're about $20 each for me. I was thinking of getting an Elsa tshirt and maybe the Alice in Wonderland or an art of Jasmine mug too so I might just suck it up. Hate the dollar exchange right now! Wish it wasn't so expensive for Canadians right now or that Disney would at least give us better shipping prices :/

Oooooo try calling your local Disney store & see if they could have it shipped out to you! Usually most of the Canadian Disney stores can do that. Plus it'll save you more on the shipping compared to the websites. Cause my outlet store has all five of the mugs even though they weren't suppose to lol.

The more I look at the Snow White set, the more I want just Snow White. She's the cutest! Absolute cutest! But I don't want the hag at all.

I got the mugs but they are small. I have them with the rest of my Disney collection and they are on the smaller side of mugs. They are gorgeous but if you plan on using them, besides decoration, I wouldn't say they are worth $20.

I went from wanting three to one to two and now back to three dolls in this line. I'll gladly split this set with someone. I really need Snow.

I am planing to get three too. The old witch looks quite funny and I dont mind them staying together.

Okay I've given this a lot of thought. I'm going to try for Snow. I was disappointed that they paired her with the hag and not the evil queen. Otherwise it wouldn't have been a hard decision at all. But Snow is just too perfect to pass up. She'll be my very first LE doll! I'm really excited.

Only wanted Rapunzel at first.. Tho after looking over all the photos I'm really liking Snow White more and more!! Seems like she has everything most of us look for in a doll. She was the first Disney princess movie that I feel in love with as a kid, just like other posters had said.(Along with Sleeping Beauty & Cinderella) We must have all grown up in the 80's. ~ 89' was the Age of Ariel! Then the 90's really gave us another batch of new favorites to fawn over. It was so awesome to see those movies at the theater when they were first released!! Then I remember playing the movies over and over on my VCR. Lol ~Aloha

I think the Snow White set is growing on me too. She is just so cute! The make up, face sculpt and hair are all really nice looking. The dress skirt still could have been better, but its still pretty and she is one of the better looking dolls in the set. Someone pointed this out much earlier on in this thread I believe, but this does seem like a set that would look really nice displayed beside the designer Evil Queen.

Hmmm, Snow is so pretty! And she looks really innocent, and that suits her so well in my opinion
The more I look at the Snow White set, the more I want just Snow White. She's the cutest! Absolute cutest! But I don't want the hag at all.

I still can't believe I actually got the Designer Fairytale Pin Set. I went for it and believed I got them until I got my tracking number lol. I've always tried for all the designer pin sets and failed though of course I still would have prefer the Villains or 1st & 2nd Fairytale Pin sets But I'm happy and now unsure to keep all of the hehe....

On another note I was able to go to my DS this weekend and see the doll sets & got 2 journals I also took some pictures and I'm so excited and looking forward to hopefully getting all of them at the store if not then online. But surprisingly I'm more excited about Snow White than Elsa who's my favorite and any other set. Snow White expression is so lovely and innocent. And the Hag outfit is amazing nothing over the top but so much detail and love her face mold. This will be my 2nd Snow White doll, I also own the gorgeous D23 Snow White. I don't own anything else Snow White but had to make an exception for this beautiful dolls . Hans pants do have the front buttons yay! I have decided to get all of them but once I have them I might only keep who I like more from each individual set which I tend to go more for the villains lol. Strangely I see my self actually de-boxing this ones so I can't wait
I like Elsa & Hans but I also got the D23 set which blows me more away specially Hans amazing outfit. Here's the pics in favorite order:

I may have to get that Snow White doll... I swore I wasn't going to get the dolls but she is gorgeous. I've been thinking about cancelling my 17" LE Jasmine doll (pre-ordered her online) and just getting Snow instead. I think the set is nicer. I may be the only one who likes the Old Hag. I debox my dolls anyway, re-position her and she'll be great!

After seeing those images, my ranking:

1. Snow White VS Old Hag
2. Peter Pan VS Hook
3. Rapunzel VS Gothel
4. Ariel VS Ursula
5. Elsa VS Hans. ---> I was thinking about how some of the embroidery on Hans' coat looked good, but then I remembered that it's probably gonna be the same when they release a 17" doll.

What did you think about the quality of the journals? I was thinking of buying one, but I wasn't sure how nice they were.

They're not bad. I got the Elsa/Hans, Rapunzel/Gothel, and Peter Pan/Captain Hook ones. The paper seems to be good quality and the covers are amazingly designed. Of course, these are just bookshelf books for me as collectibles.

I'm still so torn on whether or not im gonna get the Peter/Hook set or not. Even if I don't get them day one, does anyone think they will sell out very fast or go for much on the secondary market? Of all the dolls, they seem to be the least popular.

It's hard to say on the Pan/Hook set. I'm passing on it because I have to make cuts and it was the easiest to cut. I expect a lot of doll collectors to do the same. If it gets reduced on Disney I think it'll sell out before I have the funds to purchase because of all the releases. I'd like to have the set to go with my designer Tink, Zarina, and Fawn, but historically male dolls don't do as well so I'm thinking I'll be able to get it later easier than the other sets if I regret it and have some extra cash. I know there are people excited about the set, but I see it taking longer to sell out than the princesses. On the flip side, there's no telling what will happen on the secondary market. If scalpers don't expect it to sell well then they won't buy it causing there to be fewer available resulting higher prices.

I'm having a really had time deciding what to cut out of the upcoming releases, but there's no way I can afford them all (I've stopped tracking how much I've spent this year on dolls, especially at Disney). Pan/Hook was the first to go off my list for the above mentioned reason as well as I think the set looks a little wonky in the box because of the eyes, and I just want the others more. (A bit off topic, I cut 17" Aladdin and Jafar as well although I really want them, mostly wanted Jafar)

I'm trying to decide if I can cut anything else from Heroes/Villains, but it's really hard. Elsa is a must for me (and I'm dreading the competition). The others... I don't know. I love Snow White, but historically, her past dolls (excluding 17") have been easier to afford on Ebay. Still, I think she's my favorite of this set, so I'm going to get her next week. I haven't been able to get any of the collectible Rapunzel dolls, so I'd really like to have this one. She's not my favorite character, but I think the doll set is lovely and would be harder to get later. It'd be nice to have a collectible Rapunzel and the designer princess and couple has been out of my price range on Ebay. Ariel/Ursula is my least favorite of the sets. I think the doll itself looks good, but the shirt drops it down the list. Doll makers often do nude shirts on mermaid dolls and it makes sense as the the bra-like shells would be hard to keep in place otherwise, but they are normally fitted. I think on this Ariel it looks weird and distracting because it hangs over her tail. I don't think there'd be complaints if it were fitted. I have the 17" Ariel, and designer princess and couples so I think I should pass on this one, but she's a favorite character of mine (the first new princess in my lifetime), so I'd like to have her. I'm thinking if I have to make another cut, though, she'll be it.

On a side note: I actually hope Pan/Hook does well to encourage Disney to think outside the box and make more unique characters into collectible dolls. That's the biggest enticement for me to buy it, but I still can't afford it as it would cost me one of the other sets.

What did you think about the quality of the journals? I was thinking of buying one, but I wasn't sure how nice they were.

I haven't written in them yet, but I just received mine and I think they are good quality. Personally I liked the design for the previous two years better rather than the art being divided on the cover, but they are still pretty nice.

I am more than impressed by the Snow White bag I purchased tho- so happy I decided on that one instead of the Elsa and Hans one. The colors are gorgeous and both inside and out I just love the material. Very, very pleased and made a lovely present for my mom too! =) <3 I kind of wish they did the same design for the Elsa bag, but I'm ok having her design in the pin and the journal for my collection ^.^
