Heroes & villains collection first look
Just a head's up to anyone in the UK, I went into the London Oxford Street store yesterday and they had loads of the mugs and journals, as well as the Helsa bag! Also they had 2 each left of last years Mulan/Shang, Tiana/Naveen and Pocahontas/John Smith sets and about 4 Prince Philip dolls. I was so tempted by the Mulan set - I've not seen any dolls in real life unless I bought them online as I have no Disney stores near me - but I need to save money for Jasmine this month. Anyway, sorry if off topic!

Was the same at my store yesterday. They had about 9 prince Phillips though! I was hoping to see display dolls but I don't think we get them in the UK.

Anyone going to the store on Tuesday for Snow White? I'm glad they are doing it raffle style again instead of having to stand in line for a couple of hours. The anticipation when they start calling names is exciting. I just hope I get lucky (fingers crossed). Good luck to everyone that is trying for Snow at their local store.

So after watching some reviews and looking at more images, I think I like the D23 variant of Elsa and Hans more than the standard version. Maybe I am biased where I absolutely adore Elsa in her coronation outfit, but I just think its a much nicer set by comparison. If I wasn't already saving up to get the Peter/Hook set and the Aladdin 17" doll (which I won't even be able to get day one) then I would probably buy it. That, and I don't consider Frozen one of my favorite Disney movies and I want the OUAT D23 dolls more.

Oh, and good luck to everyone going for the Snow/Hag set in a few days!

EDIT: Got my dates wrong. The release is Tuesday not tonight

Yes, you did! LOL I'm always afraid I'm going to get the dates mixed up one of these days.

Did anyone else see that someone on Facebook already go Snow White and the Hag set? Apparently they had the opportunity to get all of them early. If you ask me it sounds kind of fishy.

If they're all ready reselling them, I'd say it's absolutely a hoax. If not, then it's either just someone looking for attention or Disney's got another thief on their hands.

I dunno how I feel about that. There is absolutely no way they could already have the doll unless they had some serious connections at Disney (like that guy who was recently arrested for getting the D23 and Ariel/Ursula prototypes). I did see that someone had an extra Snow/Hag set to sell because he somehow managed to pre-order the set at both D23 AND online, but I didn't see anyone with the set already in their procession.

    • "It was a mistake i could of had the whole set but just took this one... It happened about 2weeks ago"

Yes I picked one because when I noticed the mistake I am like let me pay and leave and plus I had some other items I bought so I wasn't able to carry it all... Stupid me should have still got them all and figure out how to take it... I am not going into details off how it was obtained or where but it was a legit purchase.....

They are sitting in all or if not most Disney stores about 2 weekz because that's how long I own her its going on 3weeks

It is really amazing.... I will check the slip cover n post a pic
    • Just an FYI... This set was not stolen, nor did i buy stolen merchandise....everything I have I paid for including this item as I said in response to a few replys IT WAS A MISTAKE BY AN EMPLOYEE I COULD HAVE HAD THE WHOLE SET... MY FRIENDS AND THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE I TOLD THEM WHAT IT WAS...

I didnt expect all this speculation and some what accusations I was showing the dolls I got in the last 3 weeks. Yes i know questions would have been asked but to take it that far but thanks

This was the persons response when people started asking about the early purchase.

I think if the one he got before release date was the public version, it should already infringe some regulations of Disney store even he paid for that.

I'm sorry, but I don't see how he could have had the dolls sold to him that early by accident. I get that the Disney Store gets these dolls in advance and all, but they have very strict rules about these doll releases. The only way it could have been sold to him was if it was a brand new store and/or the cast members had never done anything like this before and didn't realize what they were selling. The cast members that let it happen would have gotten in a LOT of trouble too. I don't wanna false accuse him or anything, but it just seems really fishy. Really though, after those prototypes were stolen from the Disney Store headquarters, I guess anything is possible.

I would believe it. I've caught product on stage that wasn't supposed to be before and had no idea who put it up. It's most likely, however that this person knew exactly what they were doing. Mistakes happen and this person took advantage of it. Store models don't have tags on them, though. If she bought one, it's because they had them out.

Seriously??? How is this person so naive to think that people wouldn't accuse him of theft? Must be quite the world he lives in if he thinks such accusations are "tak[ing] it that far." I actually wouldn't mind paying a visit.

I myself would never accuse a collector of getting them illegitimately - I simply accuse the seller for being sneaky.

Something clearly went wrong here. In my store, the display models - slip covers and all - are currently being displayed on the shelves among the other merchandise - not separated behind the counter. As a result, they're of course being handled to death. If other stores are displaying the sets similarly, then I can see a mistaken purchase happening this way.

I was thinking about going to the store tomorrow to try for Snow White as kind of practice for Frozen dolls in November as I've never gotten any of the LE dolls by going to the store. I've always ordered them since the nearest store is about 40 miles from where I live and it was never convenient because of my work schedule, but I'm off tomorrow anyway (and I'm taking off 11/3). There are three stores really close to each other. I called two. The first one told me they are raffling the dolls and you have to put your name between 12:00 and 1:00 for a 1:10 drawing. I called another store close to that one and found they are doing a raffle, but first thing in the morning. Now, I'm not really feeling like I need to go all the way to the store since I suspect I'll be able to get it online and they'll probably do they same thing for the Frozen dolls. I'm really happy that the stores are doing the raffles at different times because it'll make it a lot easier to get a doll if I don't get one at the first store. I'm kind of still curious about the in store experience and I imagine 11/3 is going to be a lot worse, so maybe it's worth the trip.

So, I'm a little conflicted. For those of you who have done online and in store purchases, what do you prefer?

I have bought one doll in-store (17" Maleficent) and one doll online (Belle and Beast Fairytale Designer Set). Really, I think you could go with either one. To me, I love the experience of waking up and going all the way to my local Disney Store just to get the dolls I want. You can meet with other doll collectors, and I love the general atmosphere of the Disney Store when everyone is there and you can personally pick which doll you want in most cases. I also personally like getting to the store an hour or two early where the mall is so quiet and its still early in the day. My only real problem is that my store is 40 minutes away and I am a zombie in the morning, so I have to get up a little earlier than most people. At the same time, ordering online is more convenient to an extent. You have all your information already saved on the website, and checking out can be a lot quicker than it would be at your local store. The only problem is the website itself is SOOOO unpredictable. The servers crash, items sell out a lot quicker, and sometimes the items won't even appear until they are already sold out. Not to mention that sometimes your dolls can be damaged or lost in some rare cases.

In short, I love buying in-store for the experience, but online is more convenient IF the website and warehouse cooperate.
