I nearly fainted when I saw this and I don't even collect Rapunzel. And who decided that these guys with only 193 feedback should be the end all be all in deciding a pin's quality.

Hopefully it's OK to link to other websites.

Mod Note: edited to remove ebay link. Ebay links can not be posted in the forums.

Is is OK to list the price? At least the shipping is free...

The thing that caught my eye in the description, is that they randomly surveyed THOUSANDS of rated enamel pins. Have there BEEN thousands of pins rated since 1999? Has someone besides PinPics been rating pins? Definitely makes me wonder...

I was at Disneyana this weekend and there was one (also graded) for $2800 by local DLR pin traders. PinPics didn't have a set price on theirs (I don't know if they were selling or not) but when I asked value, I think that's the price I was told (around $4300-5000) because PinPics has a 9.1 or 9.2 (and the one that sold for $5800 was a 9.3?)

I found the listing you are talking about...

...kind of speechless. I deleted the original extra-long paragraph I typed up about my feelings on it, but I'm pretty sure it's a waste of effort to complain about such things too much. In the end, I guess if demand is high enough and someone wants it that badly, they can do what they want. Does make me sick, though. I feel the grading system is just there to take advantage of the current trends and try and squeeze even more money out of people.

I hope no one is crazy enough to buy it (and keep the prices high). If enough people don't spend that much, sellers will have to lower their prices to something less than 2 house mortgages...

Even 'IF" it sells there is no way to be sure that it actually sold. The eBay market is manipulated to reflect prices that the sharks think will trick the "sheep" into paying or at the very least valuing them at. After a sale if they cancel the auction, no fees are paid and its like it never happened. I have overheard more than one unscrupulous seller brag about the practice so never believe something just because eBay says its so.

Also I threw up in my mouth months ago when PP self qualified themselves as "experts" and ever since every time it comes up. Puke.

That's why I see some pins for sale on eBay and then can't seem to find the completed listing when I go back to see if it sold and for how much. That makes me really mad and sad.

Lol I came across that 2 days ago as well, ridiculous (at least I think I know what you guys are talking about lol). But I was wondering whatever happened to that whole Disney Girls Set? It apparently came out Dec 2012, and was a Limited Release. That usually means most of these pins have an edition size of a few thousand, right? And Punzel was the Chaser? Yet these pins are extremely hard to come by - was there something wrong witht the release and only a few of the boxes were sold or sth? Hope someone can solve this mystery for me!

This is just...wow. I saw 2 Rapunzel Reveal/Conceal pins at Disneyana, both encased, but I don't remember seeing it in ADPins' room during room-hopping (although I think I remember seeing the Gomes). But then again, I was looking for non-rare pins

This!!! Couldn't agree more.

I've seen the pin few times now. and trust me it aint that cool. I mean it's a must if you're after the series but I can buy many nice pins for that

If I was do say the say for £'s...say it was £4300...my Florida holiday for two weeks hasnt come to that much!

I just hope no one buys it, as that would make it the benchmark price for it as it was the most recent sold

reveal conceal girls were a limited release yes but after they sold out (which didn't take as long as everyone says cause I was there when they were released and had two go to every store to try and complete my set cause they kept selling out) the next wave to replenish the stores got lost, so only the first wave of pins that was in the first stock order got released and is in circulation through the community. But on top of that when the reveal conceal girls were released pin trading was a lot different and many of the boxes didn't even go home with pin traders, so there are even less being traded. Hope this helps.
