None of this really applies to us who are no where near dsf i really wish they would allow some online orders as i am in ky and cannot possibly board a plane every month so i am stuck at paying ebay prices. :(

some of what they did on this last release was smart. Most of it sucked. But why can't they say were going to pass out tickets to get a wrist band from 7-8. They pass out 400 tickets or whatever number until they are gone. Then they call numbers until the 300 wristbands are gone. The people that did not get a ticket because they were gone, go home first. Then the people that have tickets leave once they get there wristband and come back the next day. That way no one stays over night and they don't have a million people crowding the alley. Only the people with the tickets stay. Seems like no need to push or shove either. I hope they do something.

I just wanted to bump this thread so people on Facebook can see what I actually wrote to DSF, not what they think they remember. Uh, I wrote it, I remember. I specifically stated NOT to do morning of raffles WAY back in April, I actuallly wrote that letter to DSF in March. Here is my exact reason -

"Raffle – The method of randomly drawing voucher numbers from a hat once everyone arrives. This will take a very long time and as the above idea, will have many upset people in a group there. My system doesn’t bring in crowds that are not guaranteed pins."

Now you tell me if I didn't know what I was talking about? FYI the original letter is post #3 in this thread.

I cannot give much input on this matter not having the ability to go to a release. :) The one thing I just don't think is quite fair is the rule that anyone who is in line by say 4:00a.m. get a wrist band and then gets a #, so the person who was there early gets the same chance as the 600th+ person who walked up at 3:57a.m.? I think maybe it would be more fair to do like maybe a raffle; maybe say everyone enters there name into an onsite computer or even on paper in a bin (one entry slip per person) and give a time frame of one or two hours (i.e. all names must be entered between 3-4a.m. or 2-4a.m.) and then do a random drawing of names??? Just IMO :)

Call me crazy, but I like waiting in line in the wee hours of the morning, anticipating that good number... it's the thrill of the chase for me! Black Friday every few Saturdays, WHOO HOO!!!!

Crazy!

Someone had to do it.

As an out of towner, I'd vote that they increase and vary edition sizes. Or go back to the old and post the pins on Ebay dutch auction style and let them go to the highest bidders.

ilike the current method. even if i dont draw a good number every time. it feels fair and equitable. So what if more folks bring buddies. The method currently in use is similar to what ticketmaster used to do. it appears to be working. lets not fix what aint broke. :)

DITTO!! This helps us single people going, and groups who have a chance to get extras for trading.

It wouldn't be so bad if "Groups who have a chance to get extras FOR TRADING" were a true statement, but sadly no one has pins to trade and most are just selling or keeping since it's 1 per person. The feast or famine is getting old, it's been all famine for me. I wouldn't really care as much if I was told ahead of time, say in an online raffle, that I was not selected. But showing up at 4/5/6 am waiting a few hours and then getting nothing while "that" family (hypethetical, not actual) that is known for reselling gets 4 or their 5 member team with good numbers, that is just annoying.
