I am in a cunundrum, I won an auction here over a month ago. Sent my pins right away and still have yet to get mine. All I heard from them are excuses and no progress, so I'm about to reach the limit of patience. Thing is the person who is involved is a great member of this forum and highly involved, I really hate to burn bridges . Is involving the mods and leaving appropriate feedback a bad thing in this situation? This member has a lot of friends here so I fear backlash :anxious:.

If you feel like the situation is beyond your control and feel that it is going down unfairly, contact a mod. They should help rectify the situation. And NEVER fear backlash, especially from other members here on the forum. This can all be done privately without the rest of us knowing what is going on. Nobody has the right to harass you for trying to complete a transaction.

I hope all goes well with your situation.

This. Do what you need to do. A month is a long time for a transaction within the US :\

Tough situation there.. I understand life gets in the way I obviously don't know the whole thing behind why you have not received your pins but I would feel the same way especially as they are well known here with a ton of friends ( I've got no idea who by the way, just using the OP'a words ) Maybe wait until the mods contact you back before rushing ahead with feedback though. I agree with YoSoy

I would try to contact her again one more time and if she doesn't respond or make any attempt to straighten things out, contact the mods and see what they can do. I know the person is well known here, but if they aren't coming through it really isn't fair to you and I don't think anyone would stand for that no matter who it is.

I don't think there will be any backlash towards you. I'm not very close to anyone on this forum but I do know that the big majority here consists out of people who have an adult mind and I can tell from the above comments that no one will hold a grudge (and if they do, well yeah, their issue). In your case, I would contact a mod and see if there's anything they can do to solve this. It's understandable that you reached your limit.

+1

I think that if someone is going to auction a pin (or pins), they should know walking into the situation that they will need to mail their pin out. Yes, life gets in the way for all of us, but unless it's an unexpected circumstance (house on fire? car accident? etc), that person should know their responsibilities. e.g. if they knew they had a wedding or vacation coming up or that they're always busy with accounts at work during the first (or end) of the month, then they should have waited to auction the pin(s) until after they came back / after their stressful time. They can always msg you at the auction end that they cannot mail until a certain date (so that way you know when to mail out yours) but if they don't, and you mail out your pins, and they keep postponing, that's not right.

I am sorry you had to go through this. I think you have been patient enough, and you should not fear backlash. I can understand that we all have lives outside DPF & pins, we run into emergencies .. etc, etc. But there should be a clear communication, with a certain mailing date agreed on by both parties.

If someone has time to come on DPF and post & participate, they should also make the time to honor their trades & auctions. As Alex said, just do it in a polite and discreet way without shaming the other party. Best of luck

I could not agree more with this. Folks need to take their pin trading seriously!!! It's just rude to not communicate when pins are not going to be sent in a timely fashion.

It sucks , sad part is that the person involved is very active on the forum yet has no time to be honest with me nor has the decency to message me back with an update.

If the person has still been very active on the site and he/she isn't updating you with any info, I'd contact the mods. Sorry.

Also, you might as well leave feedback. I am sure I am not alone in reading your thread, and then looking back at whose trade auction you won over a month ago. "Extenuating circumstances" buys time it is not carte blanche to shirk your responsibilities. Unfortunately, life is always full of extenuating circumstances, and part of growing up is learning how to balance all the crap with what needs to be done. Sure, backburner pin obligations for a few days or a week if that's what's necessary, but at over a month, it's time.

And for the person who hasn't sent. To quote Larry the Cable Guy,"Get er done." Push past the bad feeling that comes when you let something drag on past it's due date...you'll feel better once this thing is dealt with and no longer on your plate.

Thank you for all the help, I sent an ultimatum. Basically told the person that I would wait until Monday before taking further action. I've waited over a month so a few days will not hurt, I still believe in the good in people. Let's hope the member makes the right decision .

You've given them fair warning, and now the ball is in their court. If they don't fulfill their end of the deal and give you a legit tracking number by the end of the day on Monday, then the negative feedback is on them, and you should contact the mods asap.

I think if they had disappeared from DPF, that's one thing, but if they're here posting everyday or nearly so then they have no excuse and clearly something's up. As someone said if they have time to post than how do they now have time to purchase postage and walk out to their mailbox.

Sometimes life does get in the way. It sucks when it does, but I know I have had some times where work is crazy and there is a lot of stuff going on around me that even mailing a pin seems to be a problem. Give it a chance to work out. You yourself called them a great member here. You don't get to be a great member here without a reason. Give them the benefit of the doubt. I am sure it will work out.

I did give them the benefit which is why I gave them until Monday. However, I just noticed something really upsetting, I personally find it hard to believe that they can't mail a pin when their latest posts are about video games. Even so I will wait until Monday.

That person you're talking about is on here hours at a time everyday, so there is no excuse as to why your pin hasn't been mailed. If someone has that much time to spend on here, they should have no problem printing out a label and dropping it in the mailbox. I know life gets in the way, but over a month is a bit much. Plus, if you have time to attend the pin party last Saturday, you have time to send out a pin.

Check your pm box. I have been told you have a pm with the dc# in it.

I got that DC over a week ago, there was no tracking information until right now, it was sent today and dropped at the PO today. I'm glad you told me to check because otherwise I would have no idea the member had mailed it, I'm glad they did. But again zero communication with me ...

Since this situation seems to have reached a resolution and no further discussion appears needed, I'm going to close the thread. Combatdre, feel free to PM DPF Staff if you require any additional assistance, although from your latest post, it sounds like the pin was sent today and no further action should be required.
