OK, I have been trying to get this pin for a while now, as it includes not only Sorcerer Mickey, but Scrooge McDuck

[pinpics]27068[/pinpics]: WDW Executive meeting award gift pin -Sorcerer Mickey

8 Trading/89 Want. It is not an LE, but there are conditions to get this pin, i.e

This is an open edition pin. It is available to any convention or group booking at Walt Disney World. The pins cost the groups $5 each. Pin shows Goofy, Donald , Pluto and Uncle Scrooge around a board table with Mickey as the Sorcerer's Apprentice on top of the table enchanting the papers into the sky.

I sent an offer out last night, offering this pin for it:
[pinpics]45520[/pinpics]: DisneyShopping.com - Stitch as Classic Mickey Mouse

and they came back with a counter offer of these three for the one pin:
[pinpics]45520[/pinpics]: DisneyShopping.com - Stitch as Classic Mickey Mouse

[pinpics]57695[/pinpics]: DisneyShopping.com - Stitch as Cheshire Cat Halloween Dress-Up Series Pin

[pinpics]86078[/pinpics]: D23 Expo 2011 - Donald Duck in Costume as Woody

Now, there is no value history for the pin I am looking for, no previous sales, no attempted sales I could find anywhere, and I do realize that A) it is an older pin, and B) while not a limited edition pin in what is normally recognized as a LE pin, there are unique circumstances that do make it limited. But realizing the value of the three pins being asked for, I just can not tell if it is a fair trade to both sides. My "gut reaction" is it is not a fair trade, but without anything to quantify for the #27068, it really is hard to say

Any help or insight would be great!

Hi ,been trading a few years now ,but I would say his is not a fair trade lto ask for 2xle 250 ans 1xle500
for an open edition if quite wrong,
but that depends on how you value pins ,do you really want this pin,how hard is it to obtain
how often is it available ?
You could always write back with a counter offer say two pins and see if that is accepted

I'm still new to pin trading, but even I would say definitely not to that trade. Stitch is extremely popular nowadays, so I thought that your original trade was already in their favor considering you are trading a fairly small LE, highly wanted pin of a very popular character in exchange for an OE pin that is still slightly limited, with a much worse want-trade ratio.

However, the trade they counter-offered wasn't terrible (I could see you adding Donald as Woody to it) until I saw the Stitch Cheshire pin. Stitch and Cheshire Cat are two very popular characters, and pins combining the two of them are always instantly successful (I can think of 5 off the top of my head that combined the two of them, all of them have wants in the 100's, not one below it). Sure that Cheshire Stitch pin doesn't have as great a want/trade ratio as the Mickey Stitch pin, but many people, including myself, are in love with it.

In the end it is your choice, and I'm not sure how much you want that Scrooge pin, but I would have said "no" instantly from my perspective :)

:eek2: Just...wow.

If I were you, I'd just write that person off and try and work with one of the other 7 people trading. If that was your ULTIMATE Grail, then I'm sure you would trade whatever you needed to in order to get it. If it's not though, then surely those 3 pins that that person was wanting can be better served trying to get other Grails.

Man people are greedy! That counter offer was not fair at all in my opinion. I myself am fairly new to trading, but I have devised a system to evaluate a fair trade. here goes.

1. Am I trading pin for pin or is it going to be a multitrade?
2. What is the edition size of each pin I am going to trade?
3. What type of pin is it? DS? DSF? DLR? WDW? Cast Member?
4. How much did the pin originally cost?
5. What is the want to trade ratio on pin pics?

looking at your trade here, you offered... 1. An LE 250 pin 2. That came from the Disney Store. 3. That originally cost $12.95...and 4. That has a W/T ratio of 16T - 216W. (1:14) for
1. An open edition pin. 2. That came from WDW. 3. That originally cost $5.00...and 4. Has a W/T ratio of 8T - 89W. (1:11)

i would say you offered him a more than fair trade. He should be jumping at the chance to trade for that pin, not trying to squeeze more out of you. I dont like when people do this. I myself am really easy to trade with. I will consider just about any trade as long as its reasonably fair. If its more in your favor, thats great, and if its more in my favor thats great too.

Say thank you and walk. Your first offer was way more than fair. If I am understanding this, they are asking for 3 LE pins in return. If so, they are being ridiculously unreasonable.

Do you guys ever feel like... most people are this way? Maybe it is my bad luck, but the majority of trades I have made (pinpics included, and pinpics has been higher for me than here) I have had to be the one trading more. Sometimes I feel like if I don't no one will ever trade. Maybe not THIS lop-sided, I would definitely say no thanks to something like this. Still, it gets really exhausting. I'm never surprised to see threads like this, because it happens to me all the time and it is a big part of the reason why I had to take a break. (Don't get me wrong, I have met a handful of SUPER generous people too, but they are few and far-between for me.)

Bill, I hope you can get the pin for a better trade than that. :)

I would say it is not a fair trade for you, as most people here has said.

Now this person may have paid a high dollar amount for it, hence the reason for the high request, but they should say that so you know that they paid a high price for it so you don't think your being ripped off.

i have some pretty low LE pins that are very hard for me to trade because I paid a high price for them, but I let people know so they understand that I'm ok and understand if they don't want to trade me for them.

i don't just come back with some crazy offer.
