For any of my other fellow Central PA/North east pin traders. Stay safe! We are running on borrowed time with the power still being on. I will not be using my phone unless for emergencies! So until my power goes out I say Good luck and stay safe!

Update: It is very windy outside and flooding is starting already. We had local businesses JUST rebuild from last Sept flood and now this! I feel sooo bad for them. We are in a first floor apartment and should be fine ( keeping the leaves from blocking up the drains outside is the only real ordeal).

I do not envy you all that have to endure this on a seasonal basis in florida!

Yes! stay inside and stay safe!

I never knew until I moved to FL that tornadoes come with hurricanes. Hurricanes spawn off tornadoes with no warning and they are deadly. No matter how boring things get at home (no power, no computer, stuck inside with nothing to do but maybe read a book or play board games), do not give into the temptation of going to drive around to see what is going on/ to see damage.

During the last major hurricane that directly hit the central FL panhandle (Ivan), all the deaths that occurred were people that were outside/ driving in their cars when we were advised not to be. Horrible tragedy.

Here is more about the topic:

Apparently Disney Fantasy got tossed around on it's way back to port and Palo and Remy had some heavy damage. There is a video from a tourist online of water swashing around near the pool and other stuff. They got 25% off.....wait for it...their NEXT cruise. Not the one that was ruined. Good job Disney!

We're getting the peak of the storm here in DC. Made some great trades but can't mail anything out. Probably not until Wednesday. Anyone want to make some hurricane trades?

Worst part of the storm is suppose to be here at 10pm-5am (roughly)

Winds are really high and have knocked down plenty of trees and limbs..ughh

For as expensive as those cruises are I cannot IMAGINE paying that price and going through the rough seas .... I know it's beyond Disney's control but come on!

I know some friends of mine were on a carnival ship that came home right before the storm hit. They had a lady jump overboard on the first night that caused them to turn around so between that and Sandy, they went to NONE of their scheduled stops. She told me they were offered 20% off a future cruise, but after getting home and contacting Carnival directly, they are getting a large refund. Carnival told them that the ships themselves can't offer anything other than discounts on future cruises, so I'm not surprised that Disney did the same.

I bet Disney will react similarly to people who call and ask for some sort of compensation. Many companies are very willing to compensate for any problems people have seeing as they want their business in the future, but it is rare that people actually call so generally they rarely have to give out anything. I'm stuck in the hurricane too up in north jersey, and I'm just waiting for my power to go out, biding my time on these forums Good luck everyone!!!!!

We're close to Washington DC and the worst is over. Thankfully, from what I can see out my windows, everything is fine.

You know, I always stress during a storm that if there's a tornado we'll injure our friends in the neighborhood with all the Disney pins flying around. :anxious:
