I figured you guys and gals would understand this better than anyone.
A pin I've watched for years on the 'bay had a low starting bid. I did not expect it to stay low so I threw a bid on it, you know, just in case. Well, no one else bid and I won it! I got a great deal on it but I didn't expect to win it. So in a way, I "accidentally" (although I did intentionally bid) bought it. Funny thing is, this isn't the first time I've done it.
So, has anyone else ever "accidentally" acquired a pin they've wanted?
We had it the other way around once. We bought from a UK seller with quite high shipping, but we could combine so we placed a bid on a bunch of pins. We didn't think they'd go much higher. We ended up only winning one or two, so the shipping was definitely not worth it ;-)
I won a pin for 1 cent plus shipping last week...that was a BIG surprise! My max bid was around $15 but no one else bid. The seller sent me the pin, too! I thought maybe they wouldn't.
I, too, must admit purchasing one at Cirque du Soleil at WDW.
I justified it by convincing myself that, since I was a circus clown
anyway it only makes sense to wear one. Later on, I found out the
store no longer sold them and the pin became a collector's item.
