postal workers are lazy (like mine, he wont TAKE outgoing LBE's can you believe that?!?!?)

This is slightly OT, but useful info just in case this is the reason yours won't take them: my regular postal carrier at my office (who comes round to all the offices) told me that his supervisor said he was not allowed to pick up packages where I printed the postage via Paypal; he was told I either had to schedule a pickup or take it to the post office myself, because they had to have a thing to scan.

BUT! I noticed that in Paypal Multishipping (it doesn't offer this with Paypal Shipnow, so I use the multi-shipping even if it's only one package) it gives you an option called "print a scan sheet". If I print that first, and then print the label, my carrier will pick it up, even though I haven't scheduled a pickup, because now he has a thing to scan. (I have no idea why having a different thing to scan than the barcode on the package itself is necessary, but hey, it means he'll pick it up now, so I'm not arguing.) You still have to hand it to the carrier-- can't just put it in a mailbox-- but it's something.

Anyway, you might see whether your carrier will take it if you do that. It's what I do now on days when I'm not actually going to the post office.

I'm with you on this one.

Patience is a virtue.

Yeah, I checked into that and the post master said the guy should be picking them up, that they have the barcode scanners on the truck.. and "He would discuss it with the worker for my region." THAT was 2 months ago, and now not ONLY does the guy not pick up stuff I leave for him, he likes to mangle my Arriving LBE's occationally. I am on complaint #3 to the regional post master. Fortunatly, pins are pretty sturdy and a bit of squishing or mangling doesnt do them harm.

This all makes me sad I understand why people are hesitant to trade with someone like me, who is new to online trading with few references....burned so many times

It's not just that, I worry for all the newbies being taken avantage of by bad pin traders who abuse and neglect. It seems to be getting worse latley. even my poor dad got taken advantage of, what has come to pin trading

Men dont give up a seat to a woman or child on a bus (happened in WDW this month),

Slightly off topic, but I don't offer my seat to women on the bus anymore after being berated by a woman after doing so. She said that offering her my seat was sexist, because it implied a "weakness" in women and that men must look out for them. I said, "Sorry, that wasn't my intention" and sat back down. Won't be doing that again anytime soon...

I know this doesn't go for all women, but for me, I don't like when men offer me their seat simply because I'm a woman, I'm not some fragile flower. I know they were only doing it because that's what they were taught is the right thing to do, but I don't want it.

Back on topic, I set up a trade with someone back in August and I told them I was going to send the pin off that week, but they said they were super busy and that they wouldn't be able to send the pin off until the next week so I should just wait. After a few weeks of getting no response I messaged them and asked if we're still on for the trade and they said they'd try to send it off the next week. Well now it's about to be October and all I ever get from them when I message them is that they'll try to send it off the next week. I know life gets hectic, but it's been almost 2 months and I don't know if I should keep holding out or just give up. I feel like I could be missing out on pins I want because I'm still waiting for them.

Looks like this thread is going off topic. Please keep the Topic about time periods of mailing out pins. I would also like to note that post with inappropriate langage will result in receiving a infraction.

In your case, unless you really, really wants this person's pins, I would send a message that you can no longer wait on them. That's what I would do. You could be using your pins to make other trades. Sounds like you have been very patient.

Sorry to hear about your negative experiences...for what it's worth, all but a couple of the trades I've done have been through PinPics, and I've generally had good experiences. I usually mail via USPS within 24 hours of a trade confirmation (meaning that the person I'm trading with has agreed to do the trade), and normally add tracking to it. I do the tracking so that I can show proof to the trader that I've mailed the pin, but also so that I know that they received it (so that they can't claim that I never sent them the pin or that they didn't receive it).

So don't give up!

I know how you feel. Tiggermickey was my first trade on the Forum. She was kind enough to trade with me even though I had no references.

Judy is a wonderful person, I met her when I first started trading back in 2000.

I had a issue not to long ago with a trade that I set up with a person on this forum. The trade was set and we both agreed to send the pins right out. After 2 weeks I never received my pin nor did I hear anything from this person so I emailed her. She told me she had a problem at home and could not get into her bedroom to retreive my pin and send it out. (I'm not going to say what the problem was because I don't want to invade on anyones privacy) She did respond right back to tell me this but she should have told me this when the problem happened and not wait until I have to ask her where my pin is. I waited another week and still didn't have the pin so I email her again and she says that she still can't get in her bedroom and would let me know when she does get it in the mail. so another week goes by and she finally emails me and says she can finally get back into her bedroom and will be packaging the pin up and getting it in the mail. (this has been 4 weeks now from the time we made the trade) I waited another 4 days and still no pin so I email her again and she said she will be mailing it tomorrow because she was recovering from a pin event that she went to over the weekend. (so it took her 4 1/2 weeks to mail my pin out) I finally did get it though.

I really wouldn't have minded the wait considering having the problem and not being able to go into the bedroom but she should have let me know this and not waited until I start asking where the pin is. Also after she did get the pin from her bedroom she should have told me she was going to an pin event and would be mailing the pin out after that, I wasn't expecting to wait another 4 days for her to mail the pin out.

I just received a pin in the mail that I traded for about 4 months ago. No note, no "Sorry, life got in the way", no nothing. In fact, I had posted about this person on the Forum back then and several others reported the same issue. I just had to chuckle. At least I got the pin!

Glad to hear you received it,how was the shape of it? and how was it shipped??

Wait guys in America offer their seats? Wow. People in this country hardly even offer theirs seats for elderly people!

I have to say I'm always really pleasantly suprised with most US traders I do business with as the vast majority always say "It'll be in the post tomorrow" or "I'll post first thing on Monday". I always am honest with people regarding when I can post something. Obviously I do have to go to work and in the UK the postman doesn't collect outgoing mail, you have to go to a post box or the PO. I don't expect a fellow trader to post out immediately, but I would say at most, within a week, would be the limit of my tolerance unless they contacted me with circumstances. So I hope other traders don't think badly when I don't promise to post out immediately :hs:

I am sure there are some bad traders here on the Forum as well. I'm glad you finally got your pin. That must of been so frustrating. If people would just be honest and upfront, then you could understand having to wait for the pin.

Wow. That was a long time to wait. Very rude of that trader. Glad you got your pin.

Don't get me wrong. I have made some nice trades on Pinpics but for the most part, many trades don't even happen because of such unreasonable requests. On a regular basis, I get requests from people wanting my PTD's and they offer me a hidden Mickey pin or other small OE pin. I am really blown away and just shake my head at some of the requests I get. Out of 10 requests, I may get one that is fair for both of us. I don't really get too many trade requests here on the Forum. I do all of the requesting so I guess it's hard to compare to Pinpics.

I hear you on the unreasonable requests. I get excited when I receive a Trade Request, and then I open it and it's offering me a Hidden Mickey pin in exchange for a Piece of Disney History pin. It can definitely be frustrating at times!

I try to get my pins in the mail within three days usually. Unfortunately however, when I was dealing with the wildfires, my grandmother's passing and moving to IN from CO, it took me a LOT longer!!! I still feel horrible about that inconvenience to anyone who had to wait!!! I apologize again!

Don't beat yourself up about it! Given the circumstances, I'm sure any sane person would understand and would be willing to cut you some slack! I'm sorry for your loss.

Thank you very much!!! Everyone was very understanding thankfully...really some amazing people on this forum, I love it here!!!

Communication is the key. If pins are owed, pls email if you can. If you get emails about pins you owe, please reply to the email. Obviously this can't be done every time, but a few words go a long way!

I get these all the time too. I try to offer (in my opinion) fair requests when I send them out but I'm sure I mess up sometimes and send out a uneven request. (sorry to anyone that might get these, I normally send a bunch of requests out at once and I'm sure I may slip up every once in a while and send out a bad one here and there)

BTW Suzziesue, I took a look at your trades list and saw this pin that I want to make a offer for:

Your pin: Pin 95725: DSF - Pin Trader's Delight - Stitch sitting with Ice Cream Sundae - GWP

For my beautiful and highly sought after: Pin 12229: WDW Cast Lanyard Series - Mickey Cruisin

:naughty::naughty: LOL.....Just kidding. I just couldn't resist!!
