Is this like a bunch of people zapping someone? It sounds like a good idea, my only issue with this is that it will end up being a popularity contest.
The rule of allowing one person to get it only once a year should help this.

This is a great idea although implementing this will have several challenges.

On a different note, I know a perfect candidate for the first month's recipient. Although she is rarely on DPF and many of the new people would not know her, I know that this person is facing way more than her fine share right now. A little pick-me-up for her and for her daughters would go a loooooooong way.
 

Ive seen some threads on here about people crying that nobody is trading with them, trades are not going through, people are not sending me the pins on time, that people are stealing money, etc, etc....

This is a hobby and you have to patient with it. I still have some of my first traders that are barely getting traded now cause now people want them. If trades or nobody is trading with you.....just be patient, this is how it works. Some people will like your pin traders and others wont, be patient cause somebody will come by and see that "worthless, stupid, garbage" of a pin you may have and trade an arm and a leg for. Trust me, it has happened to me.

Very true. I think some people loose sight of the fact that pin trading is a hobby.
 
I would like to join this, it sounds fun and exciting, I assume since I work a lot and don't have enough time to become a deep participant in this site, and im pretty quiet, I would never meet the nominations list therefore I would probably only be sending out Raks which does not bother me but I kind of like the zapping thing because anyone who wants to zap someone can, so I can zap someone I want and if someone wants to zap me can, and thats where I think the snag will be because im sure others are like me, quiet and only slightly known, so chances of being nominated are small and soon it would become sad or frustrating for those, and soon the sending would stop, the popular crowd will continue because they are all nominating each other. But im willing to try because it does sound fun.
 
my post sounded a bit selfish, and that I am not, I was just posting what I think would happen, I like doing good things for others, I love seeing others lite up, it's fun.
 
Well yeah; I was asking whether the first month *is* going. I hadn't seen any official starting/signup post.
 
I'm so sorry, school happened! xD I was thinking of starting the thread later towards the end of the month then starting then, that way people have a longer time to vote and everything can be set up a little bit better. I'm so excited people want to do this!

This isn't replacing zaps at all. It's just an extra feature, a small monthly thing, to make someones day. You're not commiting your left leg or anything, just to send a card get well, card, a thankyou note or a small gift to someone who deserves it or truly needs it :3
