If YOU ship international READ THIS
Just used the new form yesterday, seemed easy enough. Neither website nor automated machines in post office could handle the item so had to wait in line. What I want to know is..why was it around $9.50 to mail 2 pins? I hear so many pppl saying it's like $6.55 or something - what did I do wrong?

I noticed that if you put one or two pins in a 5x7 envelope, it's over $9 but when I use the small 4x7 envelope, it seems like it's generally cheaper. Am I crazy or has it just been a coincidence? Of course, the weight of a pin(s) comes into play but when I ship international, I always use the smaller envelope.

Also, I use Paypal to ship all my pins but I can NEVER use Paypal to ship to the UK. Every other country? No problems. Also, I can't ship to the UK using USPS.com either. SO annoying. Anyone else in the US have this problem? Whenever I need to ship to the UK, I need to stand in line... another annoyance.

When you ship online you still need to fill out a customs form. PayPal gives you one to print out but so many clerks have no idea what to do with it, I just fill one out at the post office. Even with the online form you still need to go up to the counter anyways.

Another question, apparently priority mail international now includes tracking to "major destinations". Has anyone had any experience with what countries can and cannot be tracked?

I don't usually provide tracking for uk unless they ask for it or the trade or sale is over a certain amount. However have you tried entering your custom forms number on the USPS international tracking? It doesn't always work so I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than small trades or sales. But SOMETIMES I enter my customs forms number and it will tell me the location of the package even if its over seas already, sometimes it will even tell me if its delivered. And this is shipping priority international. Technically the customs form only provides tracking while the package is in the us, but sometimes postal workers in certain countries will scan the package any way and you will know the location. I would suggest entering a few customs form numbers on their site if you have Few laying around. You'll get a better idea of what I'm talking about. But it's not guaranteed to work every time.

I was at PO this PM. They have the new "big" forms, but state those are for pkgs 4lbs & up, or Priority mail. They had LOTS of the small 2976 CN 22 customs forms. They were fine w me using that small form for my <2 oz parcel.

I have actually not tried other countries. I occasionally try with UK to see if paypal changed the services they offer. Will have t try Canada and see what I get. Hmmmm... Lemmie get back to you on this one!
