i mad a muli trade via ta pin pics last week,and i got an email from the trader stating that 2 of the pins mickey backs came off causing some damage.one pins post was bent and the other came off.and they stated i had packed them loose.which i know i didnt.i always bubble wrap my pins,so im curious if someone opened the package enroute.has this ever happened to anyone else?their not asking for me to replace the pins they are very understanding,it just irks me.any thoughts?
 
my pins just came in the mail from said trader and they were in perfect condition,i feel even worse.i think im gonna mail him 2 pins to replace the broken ones.what you guys think?
 
I think you should use better tape and more tape. It will be evident to the trader if it was opened prior to them receiving it.
 
This has happened to me also, and if you leave the mickey back on it, you can use it to bend the post back. A cast member taught me that. I would ask them if they could try this first. Maybe one of the two can be fixed this way, and the other you can replace.

The post office is getting so bad. that on top of sealing every envelope with tape, I write the word FRAGILE 3 times on the envelope. I try to get the point across to the post office to take it easy with an envelope this way.

Sorry this happened to you. I guess it is part of the risks we all take when trading.
 
Oh, that's too bad. I have received pins with bent posts a few times and was able to straighten them - but you have to be real careful so that the post doesn't just break off. I received a package some time ago from the UK and it had been opened by customs and then taped closed.. The only thing is that the tape didn't close the end and it was absolutely amazing that the pin inside the package didn't fall out - phew!!
 
I had a piece of history pin arrive shattered. The seller was nice enough to replace the pin. Always wrap in bubble if some part of pin is fragile or you ship more than one!
 
Take it from the"QUEEN OF WRAP"Always use tape and put a warning"Please be careful opening please"!
I do that with all my trades/zaps/whatever I send out!And I have small pliers on my wall,I use them to bend the post back
but use them carefully!

Its good the other trader was considerate...as it could have turned nasty. Im sure if you do sent replacements to make yourself feel better...pin karma always comes back :)
 
Having that happen to one of my first trades many, many years ago, I now use small cardboard boxes. I get most of my supplies at a collectibles show near me. The 100 count trading card boxes are small enough to handle half a dozen pins or so and big enough for priority / signature confirmation labels and doesn't end up on the floor behind something when the post office sorters are tossing them around the room trying to make a "no rim" basket into the mail bags :)
