I know it is just a pin and I should not be so upset over it, but I traded my first and only Rapunzel pin for a Charlotte pin. She had over 10 positives and no negatives at that time so I thought it would be okay. I sent her my pin 10-11 and she received it 10-15. I have waiting ever since for the Charlotte pin. The thread here shows the undelivered pin as of 11-27 http://disneypinforum.com/showthread.php?10028-Looking-for-WolfieMuffin She pmed me saying she resent it with tracking but I had asked her 3 times for tracking information with no response to this question. Now her response:
Hi Sweetpin. I sent it to you but not with tracking a week or two ago now because my boyfriend posted my packages while I was out sick, I just don't see how this could happen twice. Please tell me this gets to you soon because I don't have another and this is getting to be extremely stressful. Can you please keep me updated? or maybe it's been left somewhere?? Has it taken this long from anyone else from the UK? I'm really stressing over this, please keep me posted.
This is my first trade and I don't understand what I did wrong. She now has 5 negatives, I wished I knew about this a month earlier. I am not sure how safe it is to trade here and would like your opinion. thanks, Tami :(

Thank you for the email. I already had it and email is how I am contacting her. Sorry, to not clarify, but her last response was via her email account.

Oh Ok..I was wondering that! Can she provide a picture of the customs tag or reciept? She should be able to do that

I sure hope everything works out Ok

I just wanted to say that you did nothing wrong and I'm sorry that you're first trade isn't going well. I had similar problems and although it wasn't my first trade, it still sucks and is discouraging. When you pin trade online, there's always a risk but in my experience, there are way many more good traders than bad so if you enjoy it, don't let one person ruin it for you.

If you haven't already, let the mods know about the issue you are having. They might be able to help.

Hey Tami-

I tried to PM you awhile back but your box was full. My pin from WolfieMuffin FINALLY showed up. So maybe there's hope and yours will soon as well!

I know pins from the UK can take a while to get to the US but I dont think if she sent it twice it would get lost twice or else something is wrong with Royal Mail but I dont think that is the case.

I agree with the others and let the Mods know what is happening with this as seems something is going wrong with the trades she had made and seems strange so many packages have gotten lost or returned.

I'm still waiting on some from her as well. She said she finally sent them on Dec 2. I'm glad you posted Brandy, I have hope that mine will come, she seemed very sincere about mailing them.

I traded with someone through pinpics who is in France and I just received the pins last week and it was posted on 10/18/11 so sometimes it takes forever for it to come through. I've had different situations with other people from France who sent the pin after 10/18/11 where it only took one week so I guess it all depends. Hopefully it shows up soon.

Welcome to the club :( I was also burned by the same deal. Just to let you know, I have traded hundreds and hundreds of times using pinpics and DPF over the past 10 months and I have NEVER gotten burned until recently. 99% of the people are very nice and honest. It only takes on sour grape to spoil the bunch!! You might have lost one pin but you will make lots and lots of great trades using pinpics and DPF :) Don't let it scare you away.

Brandy, when did your trade take place and how long until it finally showed up? I am at about 3 months now....

I know I have posted some of this before but s a recap. Firstly you need to remember that it can take anything from 5 days t 6 weeks in my experience for things to cross the pond. This has been exacerbated since the incident with the planes and packages which were found to be suspect as packages are kept for sceening on a random basis and this adss to the time Think about it a piece of metal in an envelope( hopefully a bubblewrapped one!)

I do sympathise although its worth remembering and thinking about the following. When I first started trading on line in 2004 four years after starting to do it face to face I knew having thought it through that at some point I would lose out. I have probably 4 times in over 4000 on line trdes since then!! and moved on each time. It is going to happen be it a scrapper or a non arrival of a package I always replace a pin which doesnt arrive sometimes though its with by agreement another pin s I have none of the original left. However everyone is different.

In the end we all have to take the good with the bad or not do it. I have made so many friends around the world since I started this originally in 1999 that I would not be without it then or now and if that means the odd missing pin then I am prepared to go with it

It can take some time, in fact I just had an issue where I mailed something on the 2nd to another state here in the US and on my tracking it still showed as being in the sort facility, as of Friday, the 9th.

I went to the post office to ask and of course they could not help me and wrote down my number to call me when a manager came in. I still have not heard from them, but on Saturday the pins finally arrived. Eight days to deliver the package that should have been delivered within 3.

Dont trust the post office as far as I can throw them.

Anyone who makes you pay for insurance, when you are already paying them to deliver something, is just not trustworthy.

What happens if they lose the package, do you get your postage back? Nope! Yet, they say they will deliver it for a certain fee.

Something smells fishy to me about our post office!

Conspiracy theory: If you do not hear from me on the boards anymore, someone from the federal government read this and I have officially disappeared. lolol Look for some fresh cement.)

I have had wonderful experiences trading here and through pinpics. I've only had one trade go bad, and I had to move on too. I hope you do get your pin and keep trading!

1st and always, report suspected trades gone wrong with the mods (be it here or at Pinpics). 2nd, don't get too wound up; over-the-pond-trades are at the mercy of that country's postal service, and, as said above, can take up to 4-5 weeks (sometimes longer). Frankly, I'm always surprised if I see overseas trades before 6 weeks! :D
