Hi all - it has been awhile - grateful for anyone's advice on whether Jumbos from 2004/2005 (some LE) have a significant value or how I can find out what I have? Heading to WDW for annual trip and was debating what to do with all the Jumbos I bought way back when! Any Jumbo experts out there - feel free to jump in and advise please? Should we bring them to the pin trading tables at Epcot - is that just silly? Should I sell on Ebay? Thanks a bunch! SimbaOne:drool::drool:

It is hard to tell without knowing what you have exactly-- if you make a pinpics.com account and catalogue your pins on there it would be easier for people here to tell you the "worth" and you can also see how many people are trading/wanting the pins (as a general rule if few people are trading and many are wanting you have something good).

Also is your name because of Kilimanjaro Safaris? Because that is great.:bigthumb:

Yes, it is a running joke in our family - "Come in SimbaOne, SimbaOne do you hear me?!" - Once a year we ride that Safari ride - and still chuckle when we visit WDW...my husband starting saying it at some point to our child - so that was my inspiration. Thanks for the compliment! Now as a newbie on the boards - how do I create the pinpics.com account and catalogue? I have only a few days before we leave and once again woke up in the midnight hour to realize I have a big box of Jumbos in the closet - bought them from the Disney site years ago....have too much clutter and am cleaning up. Also nervous about all the fake pins out there....we discovered this the hard way last year...just got pins on Ebay that were sooo fake - they had Little Mermaid misspelled! Thanks for your ideas! :)

Most of the Jumbos are princesses, LE series and also a series of characters with Stage Doors - like they are celebs..does it ring a bell? Old series!

You can go here http://www.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/user.cgi?act=splash and put in your email address so you can create an account. Once that is done just log in and start searching for pins. You can add all of them to your "owns" list for now if you are still figuring out what to do with them. If you cannot find a specific pin on pinpics if you post a description of the pin here or better yet a picture someone on here will be able to tell you the pin # I am sure. When you have listed all of the pins, you can post your pinpics account name on here and I am sure people will be able to give you an estimated value for your pins. :)

The safari ride makes me laugh a lot too!

Wow - glad that ride makes you smile too! You are amazing - yes it was Dressing Room door series - I think I have the whole series...good job! Now how do I know what they are worth 8 years later? Thanks for all your tips...I don't have time to do the pinpics set up before we leave - but good to know!

OH oops to late lol I think they vary in prices from 15 to probally 40, not sure though. If you have the lady one I would be interested :)

Just from personal experience (getting taken for all kinds of rides when I first started trading) I would recommend that you not rush into anything and that you learn more about your pins and trading in general before you do anything, because there are lots of people waiting to take advantage of new traders (NOT that I am saying people on here are like that or the majority of people are or something, just advising you to do your research and be well-informed). They are very nice pins and you should be able to make some nice trades for them in that is what you are looking to do. Have a GREAT trip-- I am so jealous!

Yes I have some of them. I also have ones with a Film theme (ie the board they start a shot for a movie).

Hi - I have princesses....collected them for my daughter who was younger at the time. Thanks about the not being taken...someone at the pin tables said we should bring them down last year...I don't know...will have to see. Wished thought of this a month ago or so! We have been trading for 10 years...but we are not experts...wannabes! Someone told us if there isn't 2 pointed pieces of metal by the pin tack than the pin a fake - is this true? My daughter took that to be gospel!

I agree that you should do some research on what you have, eBay completed listings help a lot! Also it slow it takes a while to learn 'everything' about pin trading but this forum will help and experience. Also I think this is what your looking for Disneyshopping.com - Clapboard Series :)

Jlynn6 - wow you are great with the pin recognition! Have to get off and sleep - early morn around the corner...good night! Please chat with me again when I am on next. :hsd:

Pin trading is soooo relative. A person likes what they like. Some pin traders only collect Jumbo pins, so those pins are the most valuable to them. I know people who only collect mini pins so jumbos have not value to them.

Just so you know the pin trading tables have been removed at EPCOT. We are hopeful they will be back some time soon, bu there is no official word. I would definitely learn more about what you have before you let them go. There are really nice people at the trading tables, but then there are those that make a living on taking advantage of people. Definitely do your research!

Thank you folks. Yes I noticed the Epcot traders can be intense last year...some were so cold to my child - seriously - we love pins too - they were rude to her...and some were nice. Thanks for letting me know about the removal of Epcot traders for now. I doubt we will go to Downtown Disney - we have our usual routine - and right now that is probably not on the list - but you never know. We have Jumbo Dressing Room Doors, Clapboards, etc. My thought was to Ebay them? - comments?
