A while ago Knott's Berry Farm made a big deal about starting pin trading. I haven't been able to find pictures of any of the pins. Does anyone have any info. about these? Also, has anyone seen any new/interesting pins from other theme parks like Six Flags, Universal, etc?

Does anyone here collect these?

I dont think I have seen anything about pins at Cedar Point.
Both Cedar Point and Knotts are owned by Cedar Fair (granted Cedar Point is a little more spoiled than any of the other parks).

I would imagine if they did it at one park, they would try and do it at all of them, you know, more money for them?

Heyshey Park in Hershey PA started pin trading I was there last year (I am from that area) and I bought some pins when I was there. It's funny...ALLL the pins they had at the time were all LE 500 If they take off then I will be RICH with what I bought! Bahahahahahaha!

I have collected for the past 15 years all the Knotts Scary Farm pins released for that Event I have attended. There is no data base or website other than eBay listing a few here and there for sale. It's a personal side collection.

Inside Knotts by the Good Time Theatre, the store on the corner carries all of their pin releases. You do have to pay for admission to buy the pins. There are LE's and OE pins available. The workers do trade in that store.

I have a couple of Harry Potter pins from the WB Studio Tour in London, I think they're the same ones sold at Universal Studios... I like them, but they're nothing on Disney pins... and from what I can see, they are ALL OE

one of the first knotts pins for the new program was a purple soda cap. there was pics on there site for a while.

I know Universal has gotten on the pin trading band wagon. I want to go and get some Bumblebee pins.

The Knott's pins are all very nice and high quality, but its a little hard to get excited about a Pony Express pin. I am a Peanuts fan and I've purchased a few Snoopy pins, but the Peanuts pins seem to be fairly generic looking. I suspect they sell the same Peanuts pins at each Cedar Fair park. There are some awesome Haunt pins this year for the 40th anniversary. The 2012 Haunt pin sold out. I rarely see employees pin trading outside the two pin stores. Many of the employees like to wear lanyards with older Knott's pins they've accumulated over the years (unlike Disney which has a strict dress code) so not every pin you see on a cast member there is for trade. If you do find someone to trade with, they have their own version of a Hidden Mickey called a branded pin that will have a little Snoopy paw print hidden on it. So far they've all been very cute and they have run special promotions where people who have a specific branded pin have been able to show it for a reward (usually a slice of pie or candy).

I think SeaWorld gave up on their pin trading. They still sell pins but they do not have CMs to trade with anymore.

Six Flags, at least Magic Mountain, doesn't carry any pins. I do love their gift shops though because they're not afraid to discount like they're going out of business. 50 cent Tatsu shot glasses!

I think Universal scaled back on their pin trading program. I don't see nearly as many CMs with lanyards as I used to and they stopped carrying booster packs. Those were awesome; 4 Scooby Doo pins for $9.95! The most popular pins there are the annual Halloween Horror Nights pins and they recently started a series of pins similar to the Vinylmation ones. All their pins are a decent size and its still pretty fun to trade with CMs there since so few people do it you'll likely find some good discontinued or LE stuff on lanyards. Their pins tend to be pretty generic character pins. There are few pins that say Universal Studios or have the name of a specific attraction on them.

Thanks for everyone's responses/info! Disney pins are the best, but I love all kinds of different pins. I'd love to go to Cedar Point and Hershey Park!

For anyone interested, here are some things I've seen in southern California:

Knott's: I haven't been inside the park at Knott's for a very long time, but I did go to the shops outside the park (Where the Chicken Restaurant is). There's a sports theme store that had a whole large floor spin rack full of sports team pins and the Peanuts shop had several pins ....and the older ones were on sale really cheap, so if you're a Peanuts fan, that's a great bargain if they still have them. I was there maybe 3 months ago.

Six Flags Magic Mountain: It's been over a year since I've been there, but they DID have pins, however only in ONE shop and kind of hard to find. They were in the Looney Tunes store near the entrance. They had a handful of Looney Tunes characters like Bugs, Daffy, Tweety, etc. Going back a few years ago, they used to have the superhero pins and some attraction pins available.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour: A lot of people don't know about it, but there is a gift shop where you purchase tickets for the studio tour and they sell a good amount of pins. Last time I went (last summer) they had a lot of Harry Potter pins as well as Looney Tunes and some WB show/movie pins. I can't remember many specifics, but I think there was a Friends pin. You can get into the gift shop without buying a ticket for the tour.

Since there aren't any forums for these pins, maybe we can keep posting info. here...unless that's against a rule. It IS a Disney pin forum!

Thanks for all the info and the great pics! I love the Knott's Snoopy hockey pin! When were you last at Magic Mountain? They had pins when I was there last, but it's been over a year since I was there.

i have a friend that knows i love disney pins. He will get me a pin from time to time. So far i have got 3 pins... not a one has been disney. 1 from Hard Rock Tx. and 2 from Hooters. lol

I collect Harry Potter pins from Universal and they do have LEs...I have two if I remember correctly. My friend collects Despicable Me. I can get pins from Universal if anyone wants to do a trade or purchase of them I go a couple times a month but could use an excuse to go out there a bit more...thats the point of having a pass right?!?! lol

I know someone was putting pins from Universal up on pinpics but others kept commenting that they didnt belong. I wish they would be added because there are good pins out there that are not just Disney (although Disney is the best )

You have that right PatRin. There are a lot of pins out there, not just Universal and I am one of those guilty parties who keeps putting things up on PinPics and getting all those comments, lol. For now, they wish to have nothing outside the standard pins added until they complete the revamp of the site and then perhaps they will expand some things. We can hope anyway. I have numerous pins from a lot of different parks, including Six Flags, Movie World, a few Knotts Berry Farm, Universal not to mention the Star Wars from before Disney, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Warner Brothers, Hanna Barbera, Peanuts, and a number of others that I'd have to search out to recall. It comes from deciding once upon a time to collect any cartoon/comic strip/comic book character that I recognized and knew. This has brought me a fair number of non-Disney pins over the years and I have framed a lot of them, so I don't know if I will ever get them all on PinPics, even if they do eventually allow them. It took a long time just to get Warner Bros. added and in all honesty, there doesn't seem to be a lot of interst in them on PP. Of course for those of us with extras, any interest at all is good, lol.

I'm just not sure why people feel it necessary to complain when they see pins they don't want added to the PP database. So what? I don't complain every time I see another AP one added and that just bugs me because each and every one of them is a duplicate entry. Too bad they couldn't just add an AP aspect to all the Disney pins in some way instead of nearly doubling the database to cover APs. I'm hoping some day it will become a site for all cartoon pins which would be preferable to one that includes Olympic pins. There are far more Olympic ones than there are cartoon and should I, or anyone else with access to Olympic ones begin to add them, they would innundate the site with far more pins of less interest than the other cartoon varieties. I have hundreds of Olympic traders, but have no interest in adding them all to the database any more as I feel it detracts from the real intent of the site. I guess we all have our own vision of what we would like the site to be, but I still think it's a great site whether or not they add all the little types I also love.

This question's been about answered, but I'll add that Universal has some Marvel pins, if you're into that. I have the one Disney pin with Captain America on it (the comic book cover), and a few from Universal. There's one pin that was made for a Boy Scout group, I think, that I'm looking for to continue my collection. I think with Disney having bought Marvel, yet Universal still holding onto some rights, you'll have to go between both to get a full collection of superhero pins.

I've seen some of the Hershey park pins, most appear to be of their rides and a few have anthropomorphic versions of their candy featured on them; Hershey Bar, Kiss and Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. My parents are huge Potter nerds and my Mom got a pin or two of her house (both parents claim to be Gryffindors). I have to say I'm less than impressed with the Potter pins than the Marvel for Universal. Either the quality's gone down or it's a completely different company for the Potter stuff because those pins feel light and are kind of flimsy. The Gryffindor sword pin is really flimsy. I have a Cap pin from 2002 that has a good weight to it, it's a very obviously different quality.

I am only 45 min from Hershey Park and yes it is a very nice park to go to used to have season passes when the kids were a lot younger, love the coasters they have but sadly have not been there for a few years we go to Disney now but soon with the grand kids may get there for one day
