Bambi's mother was not shot. Along with Thumper's mother, she formulated a plan to leave Bambi in the care of his father. She is reported to be living in Yosemite, and holds the world record for the most Russian Nesting Dolls in one location.

The Enchanted Tiki Room was originally a cover for a speak easy. If you look closely at the Tiki's on the wall, they have small spouts and smell of liquor.
 
Ka the snake was played by a rather large worm by the name of "Stretch" McGee. A long snake suit was made out of an ugly table cloth for McGee to wear.

John Wayne -- he also voiced all of the animals in the Circle of Life song, Dug, and Little Green Men from Toy Story
while all of this voice acting was done after his death, Disney pieced together recorded words from all of his movies to fit the part. Much like they did with Rod Serling in the Tower of Terror preshow.
