Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
Ahaaah I did not realise the storybooks were already in shops!

I love seeing peoples Alice. I was such a fool! When Alice came out I had every opportunity to buy her thanks to another Disney community I'm in, but I told myself "no"! Because I wasn't going to start collecting dolls again. Then all the Designer dolls came out and I fell in love (still only have 3 of the originals) and started looking at the 17 inch dolls when Wedding Rapunzel showed up and now I am collecting again. At least it is "just" the Disney dolls and not everything out there, but still, it makes me mad that I didn't buy Alice when I saw her. She is still one of the loveliest dolls in this series.

That is sort of how I feel. At first I scoffed at me collecting LE dolls, but I had always been looking at them since around Alice as well. Finally last year with the Villains, I REALLY loved Maleficent and Cruella, so I bashfully asked my mother if I could put Maleficent on her card and I would pay her back... then one thing lead to another and I kept justifying buying the other villains and then I had the whole set!

I thought "surely, I will just stick to the designer set, I don't need the 17" dolls" because I liked how the Designers were small and cubicle and didn't take up TOO much room... well that was until TLM set came out, and I had to have it... and now here I am, trying to make up for all the ones I missed! I am glad too that I am *just* collecting Disney dolls, and *just* Disney Store dolls at that.

omg... that is exactly what happened to me, but starting with the 2011 Designer Princess dolls! I first saw the images of the pins and thought: those are pretty... Then I learned that dolls would be made of those designs, and I though: interesting... Then I saw the leaked pictures, and I thought: ok, I'll buy my favorites only based on how I thought the dolls turned out based on those pics (Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel)... Then I bought Designer Cinderella on the first night, followed by Designer Ariel the next week: so far, so good... By the third week, I talked myself into getting Designer Belle, because I had told my friend about this, and she's a huge fan of Belle, so I figured: why not get Belle too? I think it was at that point when I realized that I should just get the whole Designer set. Little did I know how crazy it was going to get, not only in terms of the Designer Snow White online debacle, but in general!

Interestingly enough, on the Designer Cinderella release night, I did also see LE Alice and LE Queen of Hearts, but I passed on them at that time, because my entire doll collection was in 1:6 scale (12" dolls) only, and their hybrid elements of the 2010 live-action film put me off a bit from the stock photos. But like with RapunzelSalat, when LE Wedding Rapunzel was announced, I dipped my hand in the 17" LE doll pool and got sucked in! And that was when catching up for me meant: LE Snow White, LE Tiana, LE Belle, LE Rapunzel, LE Mother Gothel, LE Alice, and LE Queen of Hearts... Luckily, most of them were not too outrageously expensive. The top bananas for me were LE Snow White (no surprise), LE Mother Gothel, and LE Alice, but LE Alice was still in the $300 range, thankfully! My heart goes out to anyone who wants to get LE Alice now, seeing the huge, inflated (but not unjustified given that she is LE 500) resale prices now.

Buying Disney Store dolls is a slippery slope!

Shiva, you just described where I am with my collection. Well except I only have three of the original Designer Dolls because I couldn't manage to get the others. I was not as well informed for the first ones and then on Dollmagedon I could only get Rapunzel in line at the store and none online because of the craze. But as for the 17" ones I needed to backtrack and get: LE Snow White, LE Tiana, LE Belle, LE Rapunzel, LE Mother Gothel, LE Alice, and LE Queen of Hearts

Of those I have only bought blonde Rapunzel so far. I plan on getting Snow and Alice first chance I can afford. The rest are going to have to take a while before I am ready. Especially if new dolls keep getting released.

Wedding Rapunzel really just sucked me in. She is so beautiful!

What an addiction we all have!

Shiva I kinda fell into that trap with the 2011 set, oh I'll only get so and so but it escalated into getting the 10 of them which looking back I don't regret at all knowing how crazy it got.

I can't believe Alice was only LE 500 but it sounds like the hype maxed out a while after she sold? From the pics I've seen she is one of the prettiest along with Snow. And that's saying something from me because Belle is my favourite but I'm not entirely in love with her 17" doll. She is nice but for me just doesn't seem to have that 'wow' factor but I'm sure as with all these dolls she probably looks 1000000 times better in person.

Belle is "off". She is probably last on my list to get. And while I want to complete the set, I don't feel like I need her.

I think Alice is the prettiest along with Snow too! (and Ariel) But I think there was no hype before her release because she was a complete surprise and released (I think think) at the exact same time the designers were scheduled or something

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING

NOW I'M VERY CONFUSED WHICH TO GET!! (I can only get one) Please excuse the caps SUCH IS MY EXCITEMENT!

I must say though, that the photo of Anna is much nicer than photo of Elsa. Elsa looks nice but appears not to be standing up straight, giving an unflattering 'up-nose' shot. Outfit is harder to see from weird angle. It is not a great photo really (when compared to Anna's photo)

And if....if I got Elsa and unbraided her hair....so it was loose...would people think that was crazy?:anxious:

Okay happy for the date since it gives me more time to get the money hehehe... but wow WOW wOW!!! I think I want both. Love Anna's dress detail and fabric used ^^ ( wish I could see the back of her hairdo) Oh man decisions decisions

Definitely getting Elsa (she's my fav) If Anna was in her winter gear would be a super fast yes. Uhm idk they don't match with each other. But If I appreciate them separately then yeah I want Anna and soooo happy they gave her, her necklace. I guess my 12" Anna coronation doll needs a bigger version of herself hahaha....

I believe that once you buy something, it yours to do whatever you want with it. I think Elsa would look gorgeous with her hair unbraided. If you do get her and unbraid her hair you must post pics though. That is definitely something that I want to see.

I completely agree. Some people on here should go work for Disney because their design skills are much better than the originals. I want both, very badly and will be very diligent about getting them. They are actually to start my daughters' collection. I want to display them proudly on my girls' (sisters, of course) display shelf. I'm going to redecorate their entire room. Oh and no, they are not for them to play with. I love the differences between the sisters and the beautiful color choices. Almost 3 weeks to go!

I am trying to remember if Anna has small tendrils when her hair is up in the screencaps. Maybe these are supposed to be tendrils and the size ratio just over exaggerates them? Aside from her hair looking like the wrong hairstyle, she is so gorgeous looking to me.

I wouldn't see it as crazy ^^ and would also love to see pictures of her with loose hair

Omg a resounding yes then

Though actually the more I think about, I might not (not sure!)
I already want to try several ideas including a new faceup on the normal doll (which no way would I do to a limited) when I get my little 11" doll I want to try softer makeup (white/blonde eyelashes and eyeliner instead of black) and lighter lipstick....now I think about it I'd probably also unbraid the hair on that doll, and leave the Special one alone

I was thinking that! It must be an elaborate exaggeration because from what I can tell, her hair remains in a bun from all the clips I have seen
