Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
I mean more power toward people who can afford it and want it, but a few more jewels and a smaller edition is not enough to make me lose my head over missing it. I'll be fine with my separate ones.

My same sentiments. I am more than happy with the separate ones, I think they are great and just as beautiful.

Wow I think that's crazy! The movie isn't even out yet. I could see people fighting over this for the Little Mermaid, or Sleeping Beauty but a new movie that people aren't attached to get? (Well obviously some people are, but just your causal collectors or even non collectors might want a LE 17" box set of the classics... yes I'd probably have paid that for LE Ariel & Eric because they're my favourite...). Seems a little greedy Disney. I worry about the repercussions if the Frozen dolls sales flunk (mainly if the rumour of the males is true and they flunk in sales) I don't want them to jepardise other (male) dolls. Like the desigber villains, too high an edition size (as demanded previously), they didn't do well so the couples had lower sizes and towards the end I believe were hard to get. Oh well. We'll just wait and see.
I'm just looking forward to next year- Aurora LE!

I'm also kind of shocked that Disney is really putting so much money into Anna and Elsa, I mean, I'm glad they're so confident in them, but what IF they do fail O_O I mean, at this rate, I don't see it as a likelihood. These are 2 princesses, sisters, dealing with snow, right before Christmas, and the movie seems really good from the trailers. However, it's the long-term sales we have yet to see...

Because it should be here too : Here is a UK exclusive ( not european ) from what I heard. Price £500 . If you look closely, there are more jewelry, and details in their dresses;

Wow... They had better be dripping with tons of sewn-on swarovski crystals or semi-precious gemstones rather than the standard glue-on gems for that price! If they were $200 and sold in the USA, I would totally buy this rather than the individual dolls.

This is way off topic but I need help! I was moving my Rapunzel DFDC doll to another room and I put the slip cover on it while I got her new spot ready. But now I cannot get the slip cover off! I took the entire plastic case off and I still can't even budge the slip cover. I tried everything! It fit just fine and now it is extremely tight!!

Maybe try putting it in the fridge? The plastic will shrink a bit but the paper won't?

When the two dolls came out on the Disney blog I thought, I want both!!! It was the doll fever. Now I'm glad I have the time to think about it and view other people's opinions on them to come to my own. I think I'm only going to get the Elsa since she's my favorite out of the two and I wouldn't have that feeling in the back of my mind that I maybe should not have gotten them both. My wallet is already suffering because of all the dolls this year :hs: Well played Disney. Well played

Seriously? 500£ for the couple set? All right: they're just 100..
(I just can imagine the crazyness this will bring. Evilbay will be PURE GOLD for 100 limited dolls!!)
but.. for me they look just like the STANDARD limited edition ones.
I see the picture many times and i've noticed nothing different (just the position (to the left) of bows and hair for Anna).

Probably is like Alan says : swarovski or another precious jems.. but... 500£. For probably the same dolls will cost like 60£ each.

I'm so shocked. :|

I just can not believe they will be sold at Harrods as one can clearly see the disneystore logo

This is the reason why I believe that the information provided may be false or somewhat incorrect. I just dont understand why Disney would sell a Disney Store exclusive at Harrods.

Also don't forget several weeks ago we had the links for the Disney Store UK Anna and Elsa dolls released on here which is how we got the information on the dolls. If you notice the description the last bullet point says created for Disney Store. So if these dolls are created for Disney Store why are they selling more exclusive ones at Harrods?

There is a lot that just doesn't add up with the information we have been provided so far.

Harrods did have an 'exclusive' Disney Princess area in the toy department last year. Nearly passed out in it, so stuffy and claustrophobic, not to mention the insane prices for stuff you could get at Disneystore for half the cost. Can totally see them doing this.

Did it sell official Disney Store merchandise? Or was it just Disney merchandise? I just dont understand that marketing strategy why would you sell items that are exclusive to the Disney Store in another store that is not the Disney Store at a higher rate? That just sounds silly to be honest? I dunno maybe I just dont know all the fact but from what I have heard that is what it sounds like and it just sounds odd.

Question... with the JC Penney Disney Store items (e.g. the slightly different Frozen dolls, etc.), those are sold in a pop up Disney Store within JCP, right? Just trying to figure this out...

I am pretty sure that the JC Penny merchandise just has the Disney logo on it but not the actual Disney store logo. If you compare the Disney Store Animator Dolls with the JC Penny one there are significant variances between both the packaging and the look of the doll. So as you pointed out it is not just a matter of the Disney Store merchandise being resold at a third party location. So I think to answer your question it is not a Disney Store section within JCP but a Disney section within the store?

I think JC Penny has the authority or license to use the Disney name and characters under the Disney brand therefore they are official Disney merchandise i.e Disney Consumer Products however they are different to the Disney Store line with suppliers of the line being different to the suppliers and manufacturers of the Disney Store line. Also if you notice they refer to the Disney items at JC Penny as the Disney shop and not the Disney Store.

well harrods and disney are kinda partners each christmas, I mean last year the princesses haute couture ... They can have a disney pop up store , like they did last time here in France in the galleries lafayette.

I read from different people that the price is correct and both stated it will be sold in Harrods

The interesting thing is that the Princess Haute couture was never made to be exclusively for Disney Store, that is why when you buy it there is no Disney Store logo on the box. In fact these figures were made by Enesco and sold over various platforms so that would make sense that they would sell those as well at Harrods. However has anyone actually ever seen actual Disney Store merchandise being sold at another store other than an official Disney Store or DisneyStore.com?

I could be completely wrong and Disney could have some agreement with Harrods which is why these dolls have appeared and for some reason are an exclusive Disney Store item exclusive to a non-Disney store store which still doesnt make sense to me, but if all the info we have been provided is correct the I would say that there is something huge about these dolls that we are not aware of.

In my personal opinion based on what we know so far this just seems too unlikely to be true (between the dolls existence and the price only one appears to be correct and true at the moment) and the fact that more than one person says that it is correct still doesnt make me believe it mainly because I still dont know where this person has obtained the information from (if they are a cast member or just an avid Disney fan like myself). Either way this doll set does look amazing and I am hoping we can hear more information about it.

By the way is the Disney Store website still broken for you guys? I still cannot log into my account.

What if , if this set is the test , start, of the new deluxe line of Limited edition dolls , disney wants to do. The deluxe limited edition dolls , very high price, very limited , only for a certain category of people. Also the reason as why they chose Harrods for Christmas and starts the sell.

Plus , disney isn't blind, they probably saw that some people are ready to buy LE dolls for insane price in the secondary market , so why not ? If they can spent that much for regular limited dolls ,why not tell them, put a bit more and you ll have exclusive , gorgeous , unique for you.

That is a fair point and yes Disney isnt blind but I have never seen them to be this greedy and silly. Also the one glaring issue for me is why use the UK as the test? The market in the UK for these items is not as great as it is in America. Americans tend to be more collectors than most other countries in the world hence why things like this do well there and these huge insane prices are generally from buyers in America. Not saying that no other countries would pay that much for these items but that there are more people willing to pay more for these items in the US than there are in other countries.

I know that no one here in Australia would ever pay that for a set of two dolls that you can buy individually for a quarter of the price. Let alone would they even spend $100 on a doll at all. This was made evident last year with the Disney princess gallery prints that were exclusive to the Disney Store UK, yes three of them sold out however the remaining stock that did not sell out were reduced drastically to I believe 15 or 20 pounds at one point which is more than a 50% of the original price of 50 pounds. These also had a low edition size of 250 and were unique and not available anywhere else.

Also if you look at the listings from ebay UK for these items. You can get them cheaper from the UK than the US because no one wants to buy them thus resulting in people reducing their prices or bids not reaching levels that they would in the US market. So the main glaring issue for me here is if this is a test run by Disney why do it in the UK? and why do it through a third party rather than promoting it through Disney Store especially since the dolls are supposed to be Disney store exclusive?

Now dont get me wrong as I mentioned before there could be an agreement between Disney and Harrods or something that we are not aware of but based on what we know so far it just doesnt make sense at all. So like I said either these dolls are fake or they are real but the information provided is either incomplete (hence why we cannot justify the price increase and exclusivity) or the information is just incorrect.

polaris, i don't know, but maybe Harrods in Christmas, is famous and a lot of foreigner , that are rich goes to harrods for shopping. Don't see it as a usual market , exclusive for UK. But see it as target for rich people who came to london at Harrods for shopping: qatar princes, famous people, rich investors etc .

see it that way : a deluxe LE for rich foreigner and ukers, that fancy , to go in Harrods for Christmas shopping , just for the sake of the prestige.

May be it's the target disney wants to get .

It was Disney themed and they sell the odd Disney item but not Disney store items

Also what if , if it's harrods who ask disney store to create the Frozen LE dolls for their store as exclusives? Who knows after all.

I agree with Pupuce. Harrords is a totally different market. I don't think Disney are targeting collectors here with this set, these are targeted towards the rich. I've seen the kind of money people pay in Harrods and believe that these will sell. I saw a man pay £1000 for a box of Christmas crackers once :eek2:
