personally i am hoping for aladdin and jasmine in their purple outfits from the end of the film
Personally, I don't think Aurora should be in pink, because these dolls are not meant for kids. And since aurora is arguably the most boring princess (she's still one of my favorites!) It would make sense for them to make all the pink merchandise with her. But seeing as how these dolls are meant for adults, it should blue. They don't need to convince the kids to get them... But you know Disney, they'll do anything to get more money. Unfortunately...
So what LE 17" dolls will be out this year then? Wish we knew.
We have a pretty good idea based on historical releases we should expect:
Aurora for preorder in Jul/Aug
Maleficent as a "surprise release" in Oct (or possibly Sep 30 this year)
A possible Prince Phillip doll as an equivalent to the Eric doll released last year
A possible release based on Big Hero 6 (the WDAS movie to be released in Nov)
AMEN TO THIS ^^^^^^^^
I would be happy either way but they got to do an LE 17" Aladdin doll, preferably in his Prince Ali outfit. & I want them to surprise me if they do Jasmine in her turquoise, purple, or red outfit
Doubt it. Would be closer to the Eric / Ursula amount 1500 - 2000.If they did Aladdin it would have to be at least a 5,000 run
I agree. I'm not a HUGE fan of the Demi Lovato version, and still dont understand why they did the two versions.
Also we do need an Aurora with proper Aurora hair.
Can we has purple pleez? If they want it princess-like, it might as well since it's a dress and a smaller edition in the red slave garb just for kicks! If they don't do Aladdin in the Prince Ali outfit, they should do the outfit he is in at the very end. Also, they shouldn't do Jasmine's purple outfit a two piece since I went back to check and it's a dress. Movie accuracy people! All chocolate wishes aside, I think she will end up in her mint outfit nevertheless but it will be like the Disney Parks doll with the blinged out aspect. Jafar is a maybe but Jasmine is a most likely and Aladdin is mandatory as someone stated already, his name is the gosh darn title, throw the street rat a bone! (LOL)
this!!
i dunno how possible it is for this without using a lot of gel (like the top part of elsa's hair) but i really want an aurora with her lovely stylized curls!
also, i'm kind of in favor of the briar rose outfit, it looks so pretty!
The LE dolls are not actually aimed at a particular target audience, yes you will find most that will buy it will be collectors (or scalpers) but there are also some that will buy it for their children. If you notice the box actually states 6+ which means that it is for children as well.
Also in my opinion I dont see how blue would be a more suitable color for adults? I know quite a few adults that love pink. I always thought that the whole blue/pink thing was just another example of wanting the other alternative because it is not available i.e wanting what we cannot have. I am sure that in some alternate universe where Aurora is marketed in blue the people there would be demanding her in pink due to reasons such as there are no other princesses in Pink (except for Mulan to a lesser extent) so for me I dont really mind what color dress she is in just as long as if Disney makes Aurora true to her character and not "Barbify" her as that would upset me more. Also we do need an Aurora with proper Aurora hair.
Personally for me I am glad she will be in Pink because it will make her stand out and I think that the pink does look good on Aurora as it does brighten her up a bit. Again this is my own personal opinion and I know some will definitely want her in blue but we already have an all blue LE doll in Cinderella so I would love Aurora in pink (which I do find more likely). I just think if you have Cinderella, Belle, Tiana, Rapunzel and possibly Aurora all lined up next to each other it would be cool to see the different colors of blue, yellow, green, purple and pink respectively.
Not sure if anyone responded but many Disney movies have pop versions of their songs (at least from the 1990s).
Beauty & the Beast: Angela Lansbury film, Celine Dion & Peabo Bryson end/pop version;
A Whole New World: Brad Kane & Lea Salonga film, Regina Belle & Peabo Bryson pop version;
Colors of the Wind: Pocahontas forgot her singer and Vanessa Williams pop version;
Reflection: Lea Salonga film, Christina Aguilera pop version;
Tarzan: You'll be in My heart: Phil Collins did the pop version, don't remember who portrayed the female ape that sang the movie version
Lion King: Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Elton John did the pop version, don't remember the female singer that did the movie version
Anyhow, back to the original question, it's so there can be a pop version played on the radio.
Oddly, they didn't do a pop version of I See The Light, but then Mandy could have done that with another male singer too?

Yes! Aurora needs her amazing hair! I have always thought that she has the best hair of the princesses. ...
I agree with Polaris about the "wanting what you cannot have" notion.
Although I think it would be a nice surprise to see Aurora in blue, I don't care nearly as much about what dress she's in as I do what her face and hair look like and whether they are movie accurate.
For me the pop versions of the songs are never as good as the in-film character versions of the songs.
