Ursula will be released the day the DVD comes out, and when the Ariel doll is shipped or available for pick up in store.
 
I'm a bit new to this buying of LE dolls, so pardon my naivety in the matter. One of the employees at my local Disney Store mentioned a possible July 10th pre-oder date. Does this mean July 10th is for sure inaccurate? I'm just so worried I'll be missing my all-time favorite Disney princess I wish to be absolutely sure. (Haha, also wish to tell my father the real date he'd have to be at the DS doors as I'll be in school at the time!)

I think it would be best if you call your store and reaffirm the date. I know my store just had a conference yesterday, and that is when they were informed of the date They also tried to talk about the Designer Couples set for me haha and they people they were conferencing with said "they knew nothing about them". Yeah, sure! Lol. But it is good to double check! Who knows, maybe we have a mix up?
 
Hi everyone, still new to buying new dolls from the store. I've always had to catch them on eBay (which as you know is normally an expensive nightmare). I finally caught this one before the release date! I called my local store and they told me that they will have a preorder in the actual store? Does that mean you can take it home then? Or you just go into the store and order one? I'd much rather just order online when they come available, but she made it seem like only a limited amount was available online? Color me confused.. :anxious:
 

The preorder will be both online and in the store. Either way you won't get the doll until Oct 2nd (I believe) when the doll is actually released. The preorder will last until all dolls are sold. If they make it to release day (not likely at all) if you buy the doll in store you'll get it that day or online it will ship out right away. I don't anticipate the preorder lasting more then a couple of hours, days at most.

Like is it only a small amount of the 5000??

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they will preorder all 5000 if that many people want it. I know with Cinderella, they sold out before the doll was released, and it never went for sale again. So I'm pretty sure they will presale all of them if the demand is there.

I thought they only do around 1000
but like I said I'm new to the preorders and websites hehe
 
Are those 5000 worldwide? If you say they could sell all of these during presale what about Europe? If Europe doesn't get a presale?
 
The Europe market (disneystore.co.uk) get a set number of stock prior to the preorders coming out on the US site. So what this means is say if 500 were to go on sale in the UK that would mean 4500 would be up for preorder in the US. This is also why generally the Euro stock have the higher edition numbers.

i don't necessarily know how they determine how many they will release in the UK, if it is based on the prior sales and demand or on the popularity of the preorders in the US is anybody's guess.

Hi. I'm not sure if you've realized this yet, but it is July now. Sure, it's only been July for 4 days...but still. Even though the pre-order is scheduled for the end of the month, I WANT TO SEE SOME IMAGES! Seriously, even though I only want the Ursula, I have no measurable amount of patience. Gah!
 
wait so are we getting ursula and ariel on the same day?! oh dear this may not be good. I hope there isn't a crash that day. If we get ursula and ariel pre-orders for the 29th does that mean no surprise doll for oct 1st when the dvd is out? if we got one would it be vanessa? It's always a villain right?

even when Merida came out it was Elinnor even though she wasn't a villain in merida's eyes her mother was not letting her do what she wanted and was strict making her see her differently. maybe that was the best equivalent to a villain instead of mordure.

so maybe we will get vanessa as the surprise doll because maybe if ursula is coming out with ariel and she's thin again they want her to sell with ariel well so to make up for the non big ursula we will get vanessa. it's a great selling strategy think they know we wanted a doll of her so they slapped an 80 dollar price tag on a set that had duplicates and one doll that was new. they may make her a bigger size because she'll sell as a limited doll like hotcakes. i hope the 12 inch doll was to test the waters to see if a vanessa would sell maybe we will get a vanessa too! what do you think?
 
I really hope we get a LE Vanessa doll. If we don't get one now I don't think it will ever happen. I hope that the fact we finally got a Vanessa doll in the TLM doll set this year is a sign of what's to come. I can just picture her wearing a beautiful midnight blue cape with the dark beach and ocean behind her. It would be hauntingly beautiful. And it's not that I don't want a LE Ursula, it's just that Vanessa has gotten zip of all these years so it would be nice if this were finally her time to shine.
 

From my understanding, the Ariel doll pre-order is on the 29th, and she is able to be shipped/picked up on October 1st, when the movie comes out. On that day (October 1st), the Ursula doll will be "surprise released" online. I am pretty sure Ursula is our surprise doll, and there will not be another.
 
If Ariel is really for preorder the 29th it's a great day cause it's my birthday and all I want is her My hoping is that if Ursula is for preorder with Ariel (which I doubt) that they would do a surprise release of Ariel in human form or Vanessa...or even both although my bank account would hate me lol. Either way I just hope Disney tells us before the preorder day so none of us miss out. Or so I don't stay up til midnight on the nights I don't have too lol.
 
I'm just happy that the rumor has been a steady constant saying that there will be an Ursula doll. Tiz good and happy news in my book. I just hope she is Divine!
 
OMG! did everyone see the Pictures of the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection (aka designer couples) lithographs??? They look so beautiful! I just want to throw money at Disney and get them all now.
 

Double checked today and surprise - there's still a chance she could be up for preorder come the 10th! The manager I spoke with said she hasn't heard anything more about dates and that the doll release may have been pushed back due to the leaked pic (I was also told the person who took said pic was fired. Yikes!). I was told to call tomorrow, as that's when she'll be debriefed on some new info. Anyone else hear dates like this, ElysionsPrincess's July 29th, or something else?
 
Well I guess I will just have to be constantly checking the site every night for the next 3 weeks LOL. It doesn't surprise me that there are different release dates being thrown around. Maybe that's Disney's way of throwing people off and keeping the release as a surprise.
 
I thought Ariel was the expected one and Ursula was to be the 'Surprise Release' ? As for the online preorder, will that be before, same day as, or after the preorder for her in-store?
