The petals/scales still look kind of gross in these pictures, and it does not really look like she has legs under there (Let's face it: the intent for these dolls is not really to disassemble them or their outfits). Her accessories are well-made, but her seashell bra looks like an armored breastplate ("Ariel: Warrior Princess"?). I will certainly be trying to get one for my collection, but I don't think she will end up being one of my top favorites.

I agree, she is cute but definitely not the prettiest LE I prefer tiana to ariel, but her eyeshadow and even the lip combo just look wierd against her red hair I almost wish they hadn't put any eyeshadow on.

I do agree with others that she does look amazing but I would not say she is the best. In my opinion I still think Snow White and Alice are up there due to the detail in the dresses but in Ariel's case her lack of clothing makes it difficult to make her look elegant like the others as a result Disney has over accessorised her and like mentioned by others the doll is somewhat different to Ariel's natural mermaid look. But in all fairness to Disney if they were to keep the same look it may end up looking boring and would not really fit in the line. Overall she is a glammed up Ariel but all the previous LE dolls were glammed up editions of their originals.

Who knows I still think it is odd that they have a LE size of 6000 compared to all the other princesses of 5000. I know it may be a long shot but there could be another possible Ariel doll as suspected by others of her in her dress which would be a LE of 5000. Anything is possible with Disney and with the popularity of Ariel and the lacking in doll releases during the year it is possible. I mean Rapunzel came in two forms and still had a villain doll too. I am still hoping for a villain doll and if it is like past villain releases we probably will not get any images or news about it and it will just be released in Oct when the bluray is also released. But I think we should definitely be expecting something to be released at the same time as the bluray release.

Either way I am happy with what Disney has come up with for Ariel in her mermaid form, yes the make up was an odd choice and reminds me of the designe ariel but I still think she looks amazing. Definitely will be making sure I am online and ready on the 29th! 2 weeks and counting! LOL
 
Ariel is definitely my all time favourite disney princess, and i was really looking forward to the LE doll, but I'm actually not as excited by the more high quality pictures that have surfaced the past few days. I can see why people love the doll to bits but, and call me old fashioned, but she's not entirely what I was expecting as I like my Ariel to be quite close to the original. Nonetheless, she does look stunning, just not quite my cup of tea. I think I'm gonna keep my mattel film premiere mermaid next to designer Ursula for a little longer and wait for the Ariel and Eric set later in the year. Unless I can be blown away by seeing the doll irl somewhere here in the UK, I think I'm gonna save myself some money for a little while longer so I can buy the Ariel, Snow and Rapunzel couples set instead.

YES!!!! I missed out on her the first time and I was hoping that she would pop back in stock!!! I ordered her, fingers crossed until I get the "shipped" e-mail;) I was upset after seeing the actual doll and loving her character in the film that I had missed my chance. Especially, since there was no WAY I could afford the eBay prices. Thanks so much for informing us:wiggle:

AGREED! I just bought her too, after seeing how adorable she was in the movie, I kinda regretted not getting her after having the chance. Anyway , I spent the $ I was saving up for the designer couples on her.:facepalm: But looks like I'm going to put a lot more money in the next few weeks to make up for it. (young and financially irresponsible.) SIGH.
 
Congratulations on getting the China Doll, it's the most epic limited Disney doll, really impressive, it's a real collectible, not only a doll.
You will love it for sure, I was so impressed by its height and beauty when I received it !
 
Mannnnnn! I went into check out with her in my bag, and she was gone by the time I put in all my info!

I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if China Girl returns.

ugh!! I hate when that happens!! Is it just me, or does anyone else agree that the Disney Store website has a lot,of issues when it comes to checkout sometimes......it really gets my anxiety going! Hopefully she will do,e back in stock so you can get her

me too!! I figure I should be ok because disney store doesn't charge you until your order ships. I hope I'm able to get the fairy tale collection. However, it truly depends on how good,the prince dolls look

I've heard horror storries--but not in this instance, lol. I actually think it did a pretty good job of recognizing its stock. It would've been worse if it had let me check out and then I got a message later saying my order didn't go through.

I'm really glad to know people here are looking out for each other, so if she comes back I may have another chance to grab her :)
 
I ordered her. It went through, but it is showing up as "$0.00" in my order history and they never sent a confirmed email. I think the China Doll might have been a mistake. I ordered really early in the morning too as she was still available for hours after.

Now it is showing as "closed".

RapunzelSalat, please call Disney as soon as possible. I had that happen with Lady Tremaine last fall and I called and got the doll. Good luck!

I just called, thanks for the tip! Well, seems like she is sold out. Other callers have had the same thing happen to them so multiple people have called in and they do not have any available. There must have been just a couple of people today who actually got a doll.

Disappointing, but I am not surprised. Although based on posts in here, I ordered earlier than some of the people that got dolls. :( I wonder how they decided who's order was canceled.

Disney Store really really sucks, it'a shame for a big company like that
 
When I get a confirmation e-mail the item has always arrived. That is the only way that I know for sure! Sorry it didn't work out RapunzelSalat!
 
Maromi, they said the system was slow to update and only just now has gotten up to date. So lots of orders have been canceled. If you got a confirmation email, you should be okay.

Thanks Meawhite! At least I know to call in right away next time.
 
Omg, I checked this thread assumed everyone was talking about LE ARiel being stocked and then sold out (then read back and realised it was china girl) hahaha

I feel really sorry for you, Disney Store must learn from their mistakes, it's unacceptable.
Very promising for the future big releases like Ariel LE and Fairytale designer collection...

Just an FYI my local store let me see her when I went by today and even the high res pictures don't do her justice. She's absolutely stunning!! A definite must have for my collection :)
 
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm not sure how to feel about Ariel! She's pretty, yes - but worth $100? Perhaps it's the color palate, or the fact that her "clothes" design has strayed so much from the original. I think it's the first one though, seeing as I liked the first leaked pic. It might also be I just need to see her in person to fall in love, yet my local Disney Store won't allow anyone to see her till the day of pre-orders. Real bummer as I want to love her, yet hesitating here.

I know what you mean Pirate. I'm more excited about the couple sets that are released than the LE Ariel. Don't get me wrong she's very unique, but she's completely different from what I expected, she's very glammed up perhaps a bit OTT. I always liked Ariel for her simplicity, and that seems to lack now. but yes, as you say, should I come across her irl I might sway and get her, but only if she's absolutely breathtaking. ;-)
