Ok i just got a call from disney, my order was cancelled! Even after I recieved a conformation email. Strange, but on well , I got my designer couple funds back. I wonder if anyone was actuAlly able to get her or if it was a glitch or something?
 
Well, that's sad if no one got her. The redeeming thing about her being "sold out" before I could check out was knowing that at least others here got her. However, I wouldn't complain about that $20 gift card! So, if it was a glitch, congrats on that at least
 
I just got a call from Disney too and my China order was also cancelled. I had a confirmation e-mail too. I guess that doesn't mean anything! I thought I had one for sure and they just took it away.
 
Wow so maybe they did a mistake and nobody was able to purchase one China Doll ?! :facepalm:
They can't play with customers like that, I am working in webmarketing and this would be totally unacceptable for me, moreover it's the biggest entertainment company in the world ...

Please Disney Store, invest some money in your fuc***g website and do your job !
I will finally answer to their survey and give a very bad feedback, we must complain about this, I pretty sure that the future releases will also represent epic fails...

It's better than nothing but compared to the opportunity to have a doll extremely limited like this one at retail price, it's not enough.
It's not the first time that something like that happens, everybody is scared to order popular collectibles on DS.com
I hope that fans will give their negative feedbacks at the D23 expo, things can change but they must learn from their mistakes right now...

We all know that a new "dollmageddon" will happen with the release of the Fairy Tale Couples Designer Collection and probably also with the release of Ariel Limited Edition Doll, the website system isn't better since two years, only the template changed...

I am so sorry for everyone who ordered the China Doll today, a friend of mine did it also, she will be extremely disappointed tomorrow...
 
Just out of curiosity, was it a gift card for the site only or can you use it in an actual store? Last time I got a card from them it was for the site only and didn't even cover shipping on my next order (I'm in Canada). It was a bit of a rip because I would've actually saved money not using it and going to a store.
 
UGH!!! I got a phone call as well, saying China doll was SOLD OUT......and I will be getting a $20.00 GC for the inconvenience!! I'm really annoyed because I had a pretty crappy day. However, I was looking forward to getting China doll:/ it's nice of them to offer the GC, however, as I stated previously, the DS website it CRAPPY!!! Furthermore, stuff like this happens ALL THE TIME!! Oh, and my replacement Rapunzel animator doll came today because my previous one came damaged....GUESS WHAT??? This Rapunzel was also damaged!!!!! I'm extremely annoyed with the disney store at the moment
 
I totally agree.....l honestly think she was on there as a mistake because I'm pretty sure SOMEBODY on here would have been able to get her:/
 
It's an online GC........I will put mine towards Ariel... I guess I should be thankful that she will be 80 instead of 100

I'm not so sure.I actually saw links posted on a few others sites prior to it being posted on DPF. Plus you have the people like me who check DS.com every morning to see what is new (though I didn't try to get her, her face is off to me).
 
I'm just confused about how to redeem this gift card .... Do I have to sign into my disney account and it will be automatically added to any item in my cart?
 
And btw, I hate how disney tried to play it off like they didn't mess up by claiming she was " sold out" and i lost out rather than they just messed up because she was never supposed to be up on the site period. They must think I'd have no way of finding out anyway..... Little do they know.
 
The Disney Store website (and quality control) is awful, and has been since I have been buying from them in 2009.

For the most part, I have only purchased limited edition merchandise from the website over the years (LE pins and dolls). Back when they would release LE pins on a weekly basis people would always talk about the "dreaded email" where you would wake up and find out your order was cancelled. Many of us would also post the time stamp of our order, and some people that ordered later than us would get their order filled and we would not, and sometimes it was reversed. There was really no set-in-stone method we could figure out on how they fill their orders.

Their quality control and packaging procedures are also lacking. I have had to send back pins for missing fill, or once a 6-pin set came missing an entire pin. I purchased a set of LE Princess ornaments one year and two of them came broken. I have had to send back LE 17" Dolls twice...once due to the box being damaged and once because their was a mark of paint on the doll's face. And I could never understand why they would use a giant box to ship one or two pins...it seemed so wasteful and did not protect the merchandise because it was just banging around in the way-too-large box.

OK rant over. I just wanted to convey to those that may be new to ordering from the Disney Store that this is not a new problem. When I order from them I hope for the best, but prepare for the worst....because it is not unusual to have something arrive in less-than-perfect condition. You would think a large company like Disney would have a more capable website for their large client base...but honestly I haven't seen any positive changes to the website over the past 4 years.
 
Has anyone received their GC email yet? I've gotten a phone call and an email letting me know the china doll situation. Yet, no actual $20.00 GC! This is so annoying! I can totally see a dollmagenden sequel happening this year with the fairytale collection:facepalm:

It can take a few business days before it is sent to you. In the past, it was a 16-digit online gift card, so you do have to apply it during checkout under the gift card tab, as if you were using a physical gift card. From the look of things yesterday, it looks as if DS.com has not changed much from before in terms of not being able to update live inventory counts.
 
just a heads up when you are redeeming your gift card online there is also a glitch when trying to use it. You CAN'T put your credit card info in and the gc # info on the same tab as it just freezes and won't let you check out - what you have to do is put your cc # info on the cc tab and your gc card info in on the gc tab (in other words don't put any cc info on the gc tab)

Like PrincessBecky states their website is awful. I have been buying online ever since it live that way (before that it was the mail-order catalogs) the website has always had issues. But sometimes it had awesome glitches like the time I was able to stack codes to get 65% off my order even on high end collectibles that are always are excluded.
 
They put china girl back online a few weeks after she originally sold out and i bought her and got the email and everything but then they called and said it was sold out and the gave me a gift card (haven't used it to this day cause I cant get it to work!) I then asked if they could see if one was available at a actual store location and they said they have no way of knowing... twit. So i ended up buying her on amazon for like double. Sucks, they get peoples hopes up then swoop in and snatch all the happiness..... but then they bring out new products and all the happy is back lol
