Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
I think she's grown on me, I agree the gigantic scales aren't great but overall she's very beautiful and since I much prefer Ariel to Cinderella, I'd be willing to part with £60 for this doll. She has gorgeous lush hair and I'm sure she'll be stunning in the flesh like my Merida and Rapunzel ones were.

I plan on stopping by the DS before the 29th so I can also see her in person. But as it's an hour from me, it'll have to be next weekend

Some disney stores aren't putting her out for display until the 29th...it might depend on your store first. I'd call before you make the long trip

Agreed. My store doesn't even have her out for display, my CMs keep pulling her from the back for me to drool over (she's a mermaid right? She'll be fine!). I don't know if she will even be available for display before the 29th, so I would call and ask if they would be willing to show her to you before you go.

According to Stitch Kingdom:

Someone asked:
I'm confused by what you mean by "The Little Mermaid" collection, slated for release this Monday. Do you mean the Ariel LE doll or the couple set...or something else entirely? Thanks in advance! <3

And They answered:
from Disney Store, this includes a line of plush, the animator’s collection toddler deluxe bathtub set, the LE doll(s) and more.

So get your $200 bucks ready!

Plus there was also this most recent post on Tumblr where someone asked Stitch Kingdom, "What's this about a surprise LE doll?" SK responded, "just something I’ve heard, even if I knew for a fact, it wouldn’t be right to say anything. it’s a surprise afterall. it’s what they do. it’s what they live for." The last two sentences particularly lead me to believe that the surprise LE doll is in fact Ursula since she said in the movie, "That's what I do - it's what I live for. To help unfortunate merfolk - like yourself. Poor souls with no one else to turn to."

I doubt this choice of words from Stitch Kingdom is just a coincidence.

Not a coincidence at all. But a part of me is still hoping for a Vanessa doll.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!! Yes!!! That makes me so happy to read!!! I want to add to my villain collection!!!
Oh my God I can't wait. We still have such an insanely long time to wait. These are going to be some really long months.

LOL, I called a store and got the same "slip". I could tell the employee was new and sounded really excited to give me the info. I'm just worried she's going to be slender like the LE Queen of Hearts (and the slimmed down designer villains). I'd still want her, but I wouldn't be AS excited...

l was just about to say that- that I'm really worried she's going to be skinny! I'm hoping Disney heard all the backlash with their designer Ursula and doesn't do it to us again! Will I still buy her... possibly, but I've become very good at not buying dolls l don't LOVE due to Uni (aka money Sucker) so here's to hoping She's in her full glory!
As much as I love Vanessa, l an hoping for the full Ursula over Vanessa because we already have so many human/slim dolls, that Ursula will be so out of the ordinary

So I have a kind-of related question- does anyone know if cast members get a discount on LE stuff such as the 17" dolls and designer dolls? Specifically park cast members?

Totally excited to get Ariel! Gonna have to try hard to keep myself from buying all the other new merch straight away though

My sister is a WDW CM, and unfortunately they do not give a discount for limited edition merchandise. You should get your normal cast discount on regularly priced and sale merchandise at Disney Stores though (but not on the website).

Ok so with what's said up above is it possible that Ursula might go up on the 29th also and then we get a different surprise release on the dvd release date? I would love it if they did Ariel in human form also or a Vanessa

Ursula will come out on October 1st. Not the 29th. Just as Tremaine came out in October and not on the day of the Cinderella pre-order.
In September, ask your CMs if you can see if the Ursula is in the "Product Flow" book. This is where I caught the first glimpse of Tremaine.

Anyone know yet if on the 29th at stores it's going to be line-up, or drawing like the Villain dolls?

The manager said ursula would be coming out when the bluray and DVD will be released and that would be October, the same release date as ariel . (Not pre order)

The blu-ray and dvd are released in the UK on September 2nd and Disney Store's Facebook page does say we're getting her this summer :dunno: It's wishful thinking but maybe we will get her before October.
