Little Mermaid’s Blu-Ray has part of her world in the wrong place?
They ARE correcting the Blu-ray. It's the 3D disc that's currently not being fixed. My just might be related to re-adding the fade requiring some tweaking of the 3D effect. The 2D Blu and DVDs are being replaced.

When you call, they will send you mailers to send the defective discs back and then they'll ship the new discs.

Are the retail versions being recalled as well? I didn't preorder the blu-ray and have been thinking of heading to a local retailer to pick a copy up.

We recently bought it and watched it. I hadn't seen it in awhile so I didn't notice it. It doesn't bother me that much but if they do offer to replace them, I will get a new one.

I didn't think this would bother me as much as it does. I tried watching it a few times hoping it would bother me less over time...yeah nope... I haven't bought the blu-ray yet, but was planning to. Should I wait a bit to hopefully make sure I receive a fixed copy?

As far as I know, right now it's a request only replacement system. No recalls or anything. Totally optional. I'd assume future pressings will be fixed, but it's doubtful they'll make a big note of it. Supposedly, Amazon is getting fixed discs soon. So you can wait if you'd like or just go with the replacement program. Either way, it's going to be awhile sadly.

It should be noted that it's usually cheaper to get it the first week. I got my copy for twelve bucks complete with limited packaging.

I was watching the 3D version last night, and parts of the animation seemed jumpy or glitchy. Anyone else find that?

My husband surprised me with the bluray this morning, so obviously I had to watch it. I have to say that even if I hadn't been looking for the cut-switch I still would have noticed something was off because the audio doesn't match up with the scene :/. I'm not sure how people can't notice that something isn't wrong. It's pretty glaringly obvious.

What I don't get is the number of people that either claim it works better regardless or feel it was deliberate, despite the whole Disney ADMITTING it was a mistake. To each their own, I guess. The changed title and bishops knee ARE deliberate, and hence we're stuck with them. Thankfully, we aren't with the actual mistakes.

Because not everyone has seen the movie a million times, or aren't really die-hard Little Mermaid fans, and just bought the BD now because they can, and not everyone is such a detail-spotter like someone else, lol, and if you're used to watching dubbed versions, you honestly don't see the difference anymore even though it's the original Englishv ersion. Enough reasons why someone wouldn't spot it

I just pre-ordered the DVD/Blu-Ray on Sept 30 and I am not due to receive it until tomorrow. Is there any way to see if it is the fixed version or not? Does anyone know of an identifying mark on the packaging that would indicate it? I want the original movie -- not an edited version!

I'm all but certain fixed discs are not in stores yet, and probably won't be for some time. Most times in these cases, there's a slightly different number on the disc itself.

Well at least they didn't cut the song! The Muppets Christmas carol on DVD is missing a whole song and it annoys me every time especially as my VHS is broken. I would be quite cross if had bought the blue ray so I will wait until they fix it.

Hmmm, given my recent mishaps with the postal system, I'm not sure if I want to chance the replacement program. Will the fixed discs eventually make it to the stores? I haven't opened mine; do you think disneystore would get the fixed disc eventually so that I could exchange it directly at the store?

I know what you're referring to with the knees thing, but what was changed in the title?

As for the bluray, I'm more upset that North America didn't get the steelbook! I hate these region-exclusives! With Monsters U, that makes at least 3 (Wreck It Ralph had an amazing steelbook).

I know!!! I was searching high and low for the steelbook only to find out it's regional. Oh well, I guess it's just as well since I need to have my copy replaced anyway.
