DSF/DSSH Live from Hollywood - The Little Mermaid

There goes my chance at the Jumbo Although I guess I'm glad it is a jumbo, I only want to break my rule for 1 pin still (the Jumbo Art Nouveau which is a decade-long process) so I'm unsure if I really want to try and search for this pin (probably because of how hard it'll be >_<).

Remember, that the hopelessness you are feeling is felt by others. So pins are not put on wants lists, or aren't actively searched for, and are eventually forgotten. Which brings the price down. Not today, or tomorrow, but eventually. Save the picture somewhere, and re-evaluate in 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, etc.

I have the 3 different Ariel pins for trade. No Sebastian or Ursula. I am looking for pins on my wants list ONLY. Or maybe, possibly...maybe for any HTF Disney Auction pin I could use as an equally good trader.

I am soooooo grateful I got all the pins including the surprise pin. Plus I got Jafar and Kermit. AND I was zapped with an awesome Mickey Mouse pin. A good day.

Beautiful pin! Hopefully those that collect it can get one. I love Ariel and would love to own it, but with such a lited supply, I would hope an Ariel completist would get it.

So one of the Ariel Jumbos had an error! He was selling it at such a good price too

One of her strands isn't red! Such a lovely pin...

did alot of people get the Error Ariel Jumbo without the part of her hair colored in? Because I have one, do you think it hurt or helps the value of the pin?

Considering its poor coloring, it definitely will not help the pin. However, because I've heard so many of them have it, it won't hurt it either. If anything, it will only help the ones they don't have the error. Overall though, I doubt by too much since it has happened on so many of them.

how many have you heard that are out there?

I have seen about three so far (two on FB and one on eBay), and that strand was the only reason why I didn't purchase the pin from the seller :/ If you are going to sell it for over $150 and it has an error, I'd rather save a couple more bucks to get one without the error Just my two cents.

I've seen 2 on eBay (IDK if they were the same as asteriskos) and I've heard of 2 people having them besides you so that's 4. Then apparently there were 2 on FB (asteriskos said) so that is at least 7 including you and that only includes those who have noticed it or taken a photo of their's. There could be a lot out there of people who don't realize their's has one so I'm guessing there are a lot more out there.

We couldn't tell what was wrong until we looked at ours and now the hair is totally noticeable.

We think it hurts the value of the pin since putting them side by side, you can totally notice the difference with her hair.

I just found an error on mine. and I double triple checked mine, exchanged 2 for errors and still took an error home. Human Ariels shells one side has her hair color instead of purple. How funny I never noticed till all the talk of errors and the missing hair color, so I decided just to recheck mine right now and found the shell, LOL, still a beautiful pin.

Okay, I've pasted from three posts, above, to provide a summary of just this page's images.

This is from post 83. Ariel lock of hair is skin-colored, her shells are both purple. Scuttle's beak is white and his legs are yellow. The post implies this pin was available on eBay-equivalent, from China, reject or scrapper?

ETA: okay, this pic isn't showing on my iPad. But it's at the top of this page.

Thia is from post 89. Ariel's lock is red and both shells are purple. Scuttle's beak and legs are...well, they look as red as Ariel's hair--and definitely NOT white. I'm not sure if the poster (PinHunters) got it at DSF.

This is from post 92. While Ariel's hair is fine, poster says Ariel's right "shell" is red instead of purple. Scuttle's beak is white and his legs are yellow. I read the post as meaning that Jrdansmom bought this at DSF.

If both PinHunters AND Jrdnsmom got their pins at DSf, look at that variation! Both have Ariel's hair correct, but not her shell; Scuttle's beak and legs are different.

Am I reading this right?

I agree Janice, because so many of them have flaws, just embrace the flaws and it's still a beautiful pin. Albeit a very poorly done one which is sad, but since there are so many flawed ones, I wouldn't make a big stick over it

Looking at the 2 I bought at DSF. The only thing I see "wrong" with mine is that Scuttle's beak is white. :/

It is strange to see all the different flaws found on pins that came from DSF. And if Pinhunters pin had the beak and legs with color then im going to assume they got the best of the lot lol.

Scuttle's beak and legs should be yellow though, not red.

Whoops. SORRY GUYS! I had two pictures and accidentally uploaded the wrong one (I was focusing on the hair, lol). The orange beak and orange legs from scuttle are photoshopped cause we were wondering how it would look if it was correct. I got the color using the Scuttle PTD. ALL DSF pins have the white beak and yellow legs (like the rock). If you look at the picture of the pin in the shadow box you would see that the beak and legs were all like that.

Also if we're talking flaws, here are flaws a couple friends of ours told us they saw (and exchanged theirs):

Ariel's foot in the human form had some blue (from the water).
Streaks of white on the biggest Ariel's hair.
Discoloring of water right below Ariel's foot.

We haven't heard of the shell until now and the hair until after the release at home (which we rushed to see if ours was like that haha).

We did get ours at DSF

Well, if the "real" pins are so flawed and have such variations, can someone actually tell a "real" pin from that Chinese eBay one?

As I've posted, at some point "real" and "scrapper" may become meaningless, aside from pin series where the scrappers have flaws unique to scrappers. Which, strangely, doesn't seem the case here...unless...can it be? DSF bought scrappers from Chinese eBay?

I think the ones with the flaw were pins sold directly from China (where the leaked photo came from) - I don't think any were from DSF

I think I got that image from FB. It's from a former, I think, DPF member who seems like a very honest and trustworthy gentleman Besides, he was at the event so the pin is legit.

It's not uncommon for DSF pins to have some flaws One of the ID pins from last event had the shield glued on upside down! hahaha!
