i have just purchased a lanyard with 9 pins on it and they all have a gold stopper on the back which locks them in place.i havent seen these before and i was wondering if anyone knows how to get them off.thanks
 
I have a few extra of those allen wrenches for the lock if you want one. Send me a PM with your address and I can send one out to you.
 
I second those chrome locking backs. I showed some to a few cast members and a couple noted that they use them for their own nametags. One told me that he continued using the old brass pin backs because they worked so much better than the rubber mickey backs. Its funny, I have had several cast members tell me to "keep your back" because the rubber mickey backs were supposed to be better. Maybe not so much....
 
For what its worth, I am the one who wrote the original post about the various pin backs as referenced in the link above.
I did a lot of testing and shared with a lot of people and we all agree this is the pin back to have.

I do want to say that whatever you do, do not just twist off the locking backs from a pin. It digs a groove in the pin back and they are already fragile enough and they will snap off like nothing. It typically takes a 1/32 allen wrench but Disney decided to make it even more dificult and manufacture a different size with a metric wrnech so one wrench does not work for all.

Bottom line, to not twist them off, you will damage the pin back and a pin with no back is not worth much and of course cant really be worn.
 
If anyone else ever needs one just PM me and I will send out a wrench. I keep little tools like that just incase.
