Thank you everyone! The pin is a promotional pin from the release of Epic Mickey 2. It was given out at conventions. I've been watching the market for it for over 5 years and never saw it pop up either for sale or trade. There's a chance that someone got wise and started making fakes of them because a handful recently popped up on the market, but I bought mine from a reputable seller with no negative feedback and am more certain it's a case of no one knew it was valuable/HTF till someone sold theirs for $70+ since the ones now on ebay are not all from the same seller. It's not an HQ pin so people probably thought it was trash. Even if it is a fake I'll live. I'm simply happy to have it.

As far as posting photos, tapatalk irritates me so I upload mine to tumblr then post via the url.

We finally got around to opening some mystery pin boxes during our trip to WDW.

Poor Josh has lost his touch. He has really been wanting the Groot from the Marvel pumpkins and struck out after many boxes. We did run into someone at the pin store who said they opened 7 Groots last week, but they didn't have the pins with them. He's short Groot and one of the Spidermans. Is anyone else collecting them and have an extra Groot to trade?

I tried my luck with the Disney Reflections mystery set and the Peter Pan puzzle pins. Did okay.

Wow what a haul. I wonder if it's best to open boxes from different stores (like 4 boxes from one store, 4 from another)? I wonder how it happens that there are so many duplicate boxes in one place.

D23 Expo was a blast! Saw so many things and bought so many pins.



Here are the Expo items I was able to get from the 5 main stores. No dragon profiles, but that’s okay; I slept in and barely got into Hall D23 presentations each morning (fortunate to get the 3 tent poles on my RSP). The Star Wars action figure set was crazy expensive but had to have it. Just seeing Jonathan Groff live is a dream. So many celebrities at the Marvel/Star Wars panel; I was star struck.


Here are the Expo freebies. They gave out 2 pins from the parks panel (Mickey and Lina Bell) and Porto’s pastries; love that place and happy to see it will come to DTD. My friend bought a Steiff Mickey, and standing with her, the cashier gave me a pin too, so that was some magic. Who knew the Lorcana pin and card would be a hot item?


The Emporium and its pin vendors are a big part of the Expo for me. I don’t know how many times I circled and looked at pin binders, cases, and those ubiquitous cork boards during the 3 days. My favorite is the Haunted Mansion 50th logo. Also very happy to finish the Mickey shaking hands military series. Kraken Trade gave me a free Tangled blind box just because I told them I like their Meg pin books, so that was really nice.


As a magic key holder, I need to take advantage as much as possible, and I went into the parks each night after dropping off the daily haul at the hotel. Pure fun and pure exhaustion. Found many Grogus.


Lastly, not a pin, but I’ve been wanting a Darth Sidious lightsaber ever since the Master Replicas limited edition one came out a long time ago. Way too expensive, but now Disney came out with the more affordable version at SW Trading Post and SWGE. It’s so heavy; I love it!
 
What fun! I'm particularly jealous of the Castles pin.
 
Yeah!! After a long time trying to figure out how to post properly here goes! I GOT GRAIL MAIL! I’m a really really big fan of Ducktales and absolutely love anything to do with Scrooge and family. Well I’ve had this pin on my ISOs list for flipping ever (since the start of our PinPics account) and I did not think I would ever get it. I saw it in a set in person during my 2019 WDW trip but thought the price was a bit much. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and I saw it on SALE for a WAY too good to be true price and bought it! I was so excited to get it for the price I paid and was super stoked to open it in person. To my amazement the excitement doesn’t end there!! My GRAIL IS an AP LE 200!!! It’s our first AP pin too! I’m so grateful and excited to add it to my collection!!
