My 1st Family Reunion at DSF...

So coming from a large Canadian family I have had this experience before and perhaps you have as well...

The Family Reunion... You travel out of town to an unfamiliar place where you are going to spend time with a bunch of people who are related to you that you have never met in you're life... Hmmm... There sure are a lot of people here... Some I have seen in pictures and such, but who are they all...??? You just walk about for a while with the polite "Hello and how are you..." but you ask yourself... "How am I related to any of these people??? As the time goes by... As with most family reunions... You are seen by a cousin you know... Big hugs begin... Then starts the reunion... You are grabbed by the hand by your cousin to meet another relative... This is so n so... Depending on the family this is followed by handshakes, hugs... Then that relative grabs you and drags you off to meet the family and you are off...

So what does a family reunion have to do with pins???

I attended my first release at the Soda Fountain last night... While sitting in line, I begin to look around and not see any people that I recognize and nobody here as ever seen me before... Now I arrived quite early #23 in line... The crowds begin to arrive behind me and start lining up... Hey I know that person, I think to myself... Her too... Still feeling very out of place as everyone is hugging each other and kids are running around playing together having fun and laughing... So I sit back and begin to do a bit of people watching... The reunion quickly grows over 150 family members strong and the groups are a clicking with happy conversations... Well I could go talk to the one or two people I know by name or perhaps a couple of the others that I like but feel bad for always forgetting their name( that one cousin...) ... No... I will just sit here for a few like the shy boy I used to be going to Canada for these types of things...

Then as I walk around I am spotted by a 'cousin of mine' it is CaligirlUCR... " Hi Moe...!!!"... "Hello Krystal" I replied (luckily one of the few names I know)... I hear someone say "Moe...??? Goofy_Moe???...." Hi I am your cousin too... My name is.. Catburgler, ehahndisney, disneypin99, willieam.... I met soo much of my DPF family last night from nieces n nephews to aunts , uncles, grandparents... I never knew our family was so diverse and vast... I was so very happy to meet you all, you made my first family get together so much fun...

You should have went threw the lines telling everyone "I am offering this pin for auction tonight". What are you offering tonight before 8 am and seen who won before Patty hands our the Golden Tickets.

Awww, what a sweet story . I went to my first PTN in May and it was exactly as you described . I knew Judy as we had met . So I found Judy and once I found her I found my fellow pin traders, Dawny, Alexa, Heather, Margaret, Laz, Katherine, Janet and so many more . It is all so exciting to put a face to the user ID names .

COOL! But ya' know, I was all worked up thinking that there was someone with a fresh tin of Tim Horton's for trade. I am getting tired of mail ordering my coffee...lol
