Need help! I made a trade and just got a PM that the pin I sent arrived DAMAGED!! :(

I traded a PODM for a PODM and I just got word that my pin was received and it was received damaged What happens in this situation? I didn't send it damaged, but it wasn't insured. I have sent a bunch of pins and have never had this issue before. I don't know what do do. Have you had this happen?? What did you do!!??

This has never happened to me before, but ask them to send you a picture of the damage (...you never know..)

oh boy. well ask for a pic and then i guess return eachothers pins. you have to be real carful with the PODM. i put a backer card behind the film to protect that...and wrap judy style the rest of the way. it never worth insuring pins. I found out that you have to have the original receipt for the pin/pins and filing the papers etc. well who keeps every receipt for pins? i cant even figure out the backer ccards.

I figured insurance was too much of a pain to deal with. I am in NO WAY implying that I feel like this isn't legit...the way my post office has been latley, I can't say I am suprised. I had a box of stuff I forgot to grab from my father in laws house when we were up there a few weeks ago. He shipped my stuff PRIORITY mail. It didn't come, didn't come, didn't come. He spent TWENTY NINE dollars on shipping. $29! Do you know where our postal worker delivered the package to???? 3 doors down. It took someone WALKING THEIR DOG by the ABANDONED house that hasn't had MAIL DELIVERY IN YEARS to see a box sitting at the door and walked up and carried it down to me on a SUNDAY. Really?? REALLY?? And the Post Office said...oops. How about that $29 he spent? Huh? And there were prescriptions in that package. It's like the P.O. doesn't care anymore.

Okay...a bit of an update. Apparetly the POST OFFICE marked that THEY damaged the package!!?? WTH!!??

Don't worry about it seriously it happens sometimes I just wanted you to be aware of what happened please please keep the pin we have another one and it was an extra we traded please consider it a zap no body's fault except the idiots at the post office please don't stress out

But I assume for people that arn't as generous the thing to do the next time is to un-trade the trade then??
