Okay...here is the deal....I entered into a trade with another member here that has a very low post count and only 1 feedback. The trade was of a "high caliper." ($200 ebay value for each pin we decided to trade...) I suggested since I have been a member for as long as I have been, and have the feedback I have...I would feel comfortable to only do this if I got the other pin first, and then upon receipt send theirs. I have done this in the past and it has worked out great for all parties involved.... and upon reviewing my feedback...they agreed.

This was almost 2 weeks ago. The last I heard from them was that their pin was sent. I responded to that message.

I just got the pin. now...I STILL have the pin that I agreed to send in this trade.....I have sent several messages letting them know that I received their pin and thanking them.

I checked their activity here and they have not posted since December 22nd. I sent another message asking them to respond because at this point, I am not comfortable with sending a $200 pin to someone who might be in the hospital, or is away...I feel like the chance of the package (and the PIN!!) getting lost if something happened to this trader.

I still have EVERY EVERY EVERY intention of sending my pin...but I feel like I am being realistic to think that something unforeseen might have happened to the other trader and I want to make sure that they are available to accept the package when it is delivered to them.

Am I doing the right thing by holding my pin in the trade since it seems that the other parts had gone AWOL?? As soon as I hear that they are okay I will send their pin THAT SAME DAY.....but I feel guilty holding on to it...but I would feel EVEN WORSE if they ended up in the hospital or something and someone else ends up with the package!

What would you do!!?? This has never happened to me before and I want to make sure I am doing the right thing. I feel like with the PRICE associated with this trade the other member would be all over and on top of the status...so thats why I am especially worried!!

I can understand your reluctance to mail their pin. I would hold onto it and continue to send them PM's to show your good intentions. Some people are VERY laid back about trading. If I am trading with someone, I am on top of my messages. Not everyone does that. I have traded with people on here and had to wait a week or two to get a response.

I'd do the same as you tbh. Maybe you can contact them through their personal email or something, if you have that. Not everyone checks the forum every day, I guess. But I wouldn't worry, I'm sure they'll understand when they can reply.

I only have their Disney Pin Forum contact info....so I cannot e mail, but that would be a good idea in the future to collect that info! Thanks for the input guys! I just wanted to make sure what I am doing (holding the pin) wouldn't be looked down on.

I think if it were me, I would also wait to send the pin. :dunno: I would feel the same exact way are what you are explaining! I would just message them again and explain that the pin is packaged up and ready to be shipped out, but you do not want to send it until you hear from them because you want to make sure they are okay, around and that the pin does not end up in the hands of the wrong person! I think if they are reasonable at all, they will not only understand, but appreciate you reasons!

Yes, the reason why I am so reluctant is because this person expressed that this pin is pretty much their ultimate grail...so I really feel like they would be on top of this trade and the status. I REALLY hope I hear from them soon!!! I would really like to fulfill their grail dreams <3

I disagree with what everyone else says. Your original post says that you agreed you would send it upon receipt, (and you've said you already received it.)

If the trader has such an infrequent post count, they probably don't come onto DPF often. He/she may not have his/her profile set to send them emails to say that he/she has PMs on DPF.

Send it with SIGNATURE confirmation since you're worried he/she won't get it. That way, the post office should actually get a signature and not just leave it inside a mailbox.

+1 I think this would be the best way to complete your trade at this point. I would also insure the package for $200 plus ... that level requires signature by the addressee!

I agree with this as well. Good luck.

Do the administrators here have e-mails for all members? If so, perhaps they could give you an e-mail for the person or at least send an e-mail themselves on your behalf. Good luck in completing your trade.

I'd send it like said above. I wouldn't be surprised by no response on DPF, they're still probably expecting it I'm sure.

Okay...I will wait one more day and if I do not hear anything I guess I will send it with signature conf. I just feel so uneasy doing that though...but I do not want a bad reputation!

send the pin as you promised, if it was me I would have contacted you to find out why it was not sent, have never waited til I received a pin first then sent mine, I have never had a problem sending, but then again if you felt there was a need to do that then do so. Just my opinion and 2 cents worth.

I agree too with the send with signature on delivery and insurance. Keep the receipt, maybe even post a pic of it to them via PM (if you can do that?). Just to cover all your bases.

If I was waiting for a grail worth that much, Id be on top of it too. Lets hope they are okay.

Please message me, I have an update on your WIR pin. For those who know her, please pass on my message, she does not respond to private messages, however she has responded to threads in the past.

Also, I need to respond to the subject of this thread which was posted on January 6th. I am confused by it and it has fed into my mistrust. This thread was asking for advice because:

"This was almost 2 weeks ago. The last I heard from them was that their pin was sent. I responded to that message."

However your responded 2 days prior confirming you received the pin I sent. You also mentioned that:

"I checked their activity here and they have not posted since December 22nd."

Even though that may be true, the last activity would show that I logged on daily, to check on any updates from you. And even though I do not post regularly, I stayed in contact through private messaging. My last pm to you before you posted this thread was on January 2nd which began with:

"Hi, I sent the pin today, tracking number 9114901159818832802590..."

I kept my end of our agreements in this trade. It has been about 6 months and I'm still waiting for you to fulfill yours.

wow...so they never did send your pin? I wonder why they would make this post and say they would send it with signature confirmation and then never send it. I hope this works out for you. Like stated above, get a moderator involved they may be able to help in some way.
