Need some ideas

I bought a small shadow box today an 8x10 and I got it because I want to make a shadowbox just for Tangled.

My question is I need some ideas for maybe a background or maybe something as a boarder?? I was thinking of using some sticker vines with big letters that hangs each letter spelled as T A N G L E D

I am just thinking so hard and trying to get ideas!! Also at the moment I am hunting really hard for the tangled pins!! I have some below here that I am really looking for.

I really like using scrapbook paper for backgrounds. You can find soooooo many different designs. Also think about looking up Tangled pictures on the net and printing something out for yourself. You could even use a semi-plain background and maybe print out some clip art and glue it on.

Great picture, and yea search "Tangled backgrounds" or maybe even "Tangled artwork" and you'll get some of the backgrounds.

DumboLover, I am doing the same thing with shadowboxes for my stained glass pins. Have you done this kind of project before?

I was wondering what are you using for the backing? I mean, you can't just put up a piece of paper, because it will just slump down (especially with pins attached to it), right? So what do you attach the paper to, and how do you attach it? Do you glue the paper to it? Or do you tack it in the corners, or what? Thanks for any insight you can provide on this subject.


To answer your question, I plan to use black velvet, to help the pins themselves stand out more. I know it's not very creative, but with the stained glass pins, I feel like they speak for themselves. If I was doing a Tangled shadow box, I'd probably just use turquoise or sky blue glitter-paper (because I think those colors would go well with Rapunzel's dress), and put the Tangled logo at the top.

I use foam board...I use an exacto to cut it to JUST fit inside the shadow box. Then I put the paper or background over that and put the pins in. I don't even glue it as the pins hold the paper in place. As long your foamboard isn't too big or small, it should just kind of wedge in there and you can put it as deep or shallow you want it in the frame. Does that make sense?

I am not quite sure what I am doing just yet for the backing of my shadowbox...I am going to the craft store this evening when my Husband comes home and I am going to look at some papers maybe and I might just use tape or something to hold the back of the pins especially in the corner. I have done another shadowbox for my Halloween Disney Pins and I just bought a piece of Halloween fabric and put bulletin board pins in the corner of each side to hold the fabric down....I used black board pins so that way you couldnt see them in the corner. I only pull out my Halloween Disney Pin Shadow box out around October for Halloween because I dont want it on my wall all year since it's all dressed up for Halloween.

But the new project I am going to do is a little bit different and I want to make it a bit more creative and I am concerned about my stained glass Rapunzel pin because I want it to show. This shadowbox will be hanging in my living room so I want to make it look really neat and I am thinking of doing a wall in my house of shadowboxes of the Disney pins that I really love and admire the most which are Tangled of course, and Dumbo and Mary Poppins.

Thank you for your suggestion and I will def take a picture of it once I am done with the project. It's too bad I only have like 5 Tangled pins to start with but I am hoping to get more and I am just hunting them down really hard right now. I am excited though because I was able to do a trade for the new Tangled UK pin. (whew)

I agree, that Tangled stained glass pin is really pretty, and it would be a shame if it got lost on top of a background image such as the one above. Maybe you could cut out a solid-color piece paper to fit behind just that one pin?

I think that's a great idea. And the good thing about shadowboxes is you could put more than one foamboard in each one, and switch a new one to the front every once in a while. This is what I plan to do with my Mother's Day and Father's Day pins. I also plan to collect Christmas pins eventually, so that would work for those as well.
