I am posting this here so people can be aware that this happened last last night.

On a few fantasy pin groups I follow a ton of Drama happened last night. Someone thought that they could do "disney better" and with a large group decided to remake the new Designer Ariel Pin.

This person has also be found to be one of the same people who scammed a ton of people on facebook earlier this year by trading pins they didn't have for grails, and sending out cut open bubble mailers with no pins ever inside.

He has been banned from nearly every pin group and claims because one of his "friends" ratted him out he will no longer make these pins.

But as you can see in the photo these metal proofs are VERY real.

This is NOT a fantasy pin.

While everyone one has a different view on them, this is a straight up COUNTERFEIT pin. It is exactly what the other post of several people going to jail for 8 years for.

This is not a cute mash up, or stolen art, or new fanart. This is greed at it's finest.

Please be aware that they haven't been made yet, but please note the differences, if it does get released or something, be wary.

Can you PM me or Facebook message me who it is? I'm happy to say I missed all the drama, but I'd like to know who to be on guard about.

How wretched! I'm certainly glad I got my designer pins before they had the chance to be faked, but it might now cast a shadow over those of us trying to trade them. Grrrrr. I follow a few pin Instas, but haven't seen this. But then again, I don't have any interest in fantasy pins other than maybe seeing the well done ones in pictures.

Edit: rethought my link to the old thread because his real name is posted in there and I don't want to be accused of doxing. Suffice to say, DPF members had issues with him sending empty envelopes before.

As a FYI, in case anyone wants to know his name/address (he's the Las Vegas pin scammer who cut off the posts of the pins he did return), send a PM to Angel (Pin-A-Colada). He and Carrie (from IE, I forgot her DPF name) got their pins back and Carrie's pin had the pin post cut off of it.

Here's the warning from David (docfish2u) from December 2013:

There is nothing fantasy about this pin. It is a counterfeit. Just like so many of the pins we have known as scrappers, but are really counterfeits. Why am I not surprised it is this clown again.

Wow, this is sad. How did you find out about the counterfeit? Did he post it somewhere?

He tried to pre-sell the pin in a couple different Facebook groups. In some groups I guess people actually wanted to buy it and in others it was almost immediately shut down.

The scary thing is he has interested buyers so I wouldn't be surprised if he actually finished the pin and we see it pop up on eBay in December or January

"After this may I be removed from this group. The comment will more than likely be deleted but as the definition states. Counterfeit is made as an exact imitation. Which this is not.. Also there was no intention to deceive anyone as those who purchased it knew exactly and were told about it where the art originated from. Furthermore why can't everyone wait to see the completed thing and then judge to see if it's EXACTLY the same.. I know there is a lot of people against it but I can guarantee that if I had made this and just thrown it out there with the words FOR FREE no one would say anything."

Hey so I saw what I think is an update for this counterfeit pin on Facebook, so I think the person ended up making them and distributing them. The photo isn't from the creator but from someone else who has the pin and was looking to trade it.

Here is a picture of the real pin. I just wanted to let everyone know that this ended up coming to fruition so if you were after the pin you need to be on the lookout

Supper lame. But not a suprise, when members in our hobby act like pins are gold. It's only a matter of time till the big sharks want some of the meat that little sharks live on. Fake is fake to me. No mater what you call it. If it was not made by disney and sold by disney. It's fake. I get the different names used. But don't care. Even a scrapper is fake. It may be a disney made fake. But it was not made to be sold and there for is not real.

Cant wait to read about this guy just like the scrapper team. So fun to see the mug shots.

That's a shame these have to exist. But it's also a shame that the main part of the tail is nicer on the fantasy pin, though I prefer the glitter fins of the real one. It's so close to the original over all that some folks, especially if they're not hip to the community, could get scammed on it.
