Okay last update the auctioning person told me that the Moderators gave them permission to extend the auction however the person decided not to do this and declare me the winner. Which is great for me. BUT leaves me wondering what the moderators are thinking on this. Aren't they the ones who set the rules? If they are going to change the rules and allow exceptions to them then in my humble opinion it needs to be across the board or NOT at all which is what I believe is the best thing. I do have to thank the person auctioning as they stood by the rules after asking me how I felt which they didn't have to do.
I would like to know who granted permission for an extension as well. The last I said was that an extension might be possible since we have been having so many server problems BUT it was up for negotiation and administrator approval - NOTHING had been decided. A formal decision for this (no extension because it would send a bad precedent, sorry) would have been sent had the forum not erupted in drama and this issue not been eclipsed by it.
Whenever I see pink writing I just assume the thread is closed lol
No mod gave permission. I told Connor in a PM that one mod had said they thought it would be okay but that they needed to check with the other mods. This has now been blown WAY out of proportion and never should have been taken public. It was my auction. I had several people comment that they wish they could have bid. I asked a mod, they said possibly. I asked Connor's opinion because it mattered to me and then I decided not to do an extension. This was no mod's fault and there no reason for drama. The situation has been resolved. Let's get back to trading!
No to auctions being extended.
Is that pink enough for you?!
LOL
Lol it's just gotten to the point where if I see Stef post I just think the thread is shut down
Hahaha because normally you can't quote what Stef says so there wouldn't be a point in showing pink in a quoteMe too! Although funny, the pink doesn't show up when you quote it. Hmm, what's up with that?
Not sure if mods can help. An auction closed with me in the lead. I assumed I'd won. I patiently waited to be contacted. When I was never contacted, I PM'd the person. Their answer was that they changed their mind after the auction closed. I contacted the mods. Got an answer that they'd look into it and that was the last I'd ever heard of it. Hence, I still have no Cinderella PODM.
If the forum is Crashing consistently at the end of your auction and the leader board changes then I think it is only fair to give the person who was #1 before the crashing a chance to answer the new bid. And if they regain the top spot, only the #2 can bid again, and so on. Like a sudden death overtime situation. Server crashes suck. But I don't think a new bidder from out of nowhere can complain, only someone who had the top spot and lost it during a server crashing session.
