No, she's not worshiping the sun. She's just admiring it. It's pretty much what all of us would do if we visited the French Riviera (La cote d'azur).

This pin was part of of a series that was mimicing the style of classical art works. In this case it was based on is called "Sur la Cote d'azur" by Roger Broders, as is documented in description of the pin

This is the oringal poster that the pin is based on ; I think its basicly french toresim posters (sorry bad spelling there! lol)

.about the artist :

In his job promoting the Paris-Lyons-Mediterranean Railway, graphic artist Roger Broders (1883 – 1953), was pivotal to poster art’s initial wave in popularity. Defining vintage travel poster art of the 1920’s and early 1930’s, his distinctive, exuberant Art Deco style goes along with his ability to evoke the romance and nostalgia of travel. The contemporary resurgence in his work’s popularity is part of the vintage poster art boom, with his original works fetching over $5,000.

My GF actually has this pin, im not into Ariel but this is one of the best pins i have ever seen, it is really well designed and just looks so amazing when put under natural light.
We took it to DLR last week when we went to renew our passes and every single one of the traders were offering some really great and valuable pins for it, we got it for cheap but if you can get it for under 75$ i guarantee you that you will get your moneys worth in either trades or enjoyment

I have this pin and LOVE it. it is really beautiful and i like it even more seeing that poster it is based off of! I always thought of the pin as the scene when ariel first gets her legs, since that is the outfit she is wearing. and this would be her first time in the sunshine she is enjoying it This pin always makes me happy and makes me think of summer!

we got our pin for 15$, not even joking, and when we were at DLR they offered us the 3 kiss the girl Ariel pins for it, they really liked it

Wow the is the pin really worth that much? I bought it from disneystore.com when it was on sale for $8 i think.

its rare, not many people let go of it, but yea, at DLR there were 5 or 6 traders that really wanted it, i had no idea it was valuable either. i would say hold on to it.. they really stepped up when it came to offers for it

What a beautiful pin.

If there are any pins of characters worshiping the sun, let me know because I want it.
