I either go through PayPal, USPS.com or Stamps.com.

If you sign up with Stamps.com they give you $5 in free postage, I think. Don't quote me on it though. I know they do at least give you free postage.

USPS.com - u cant print first class mail though . . . . can you print thru paypal when it is not for someone who sent u money thru paypal? I do use stamps.com but trying to find somewhere that doesnt charge the monthly fee.

I was going to sign up for stamps.com and now all I get are ANNOYING telemarketer calls from them. On top of being a paid service, they just aren't worth the hassle and inconvenience. Stay away from stamps.com, and don't give them any of your personal information!

I use paypal for everything except international shipping.

Yes, you can ship to people who have not paid you through paypal. Just go to paypal.com/shipnow

There is a way to get an account through USPS for 1st class postage. But I think you are going to need a scale to use with it. You can always try to buy a postage machine from a place that has gone out of business. Me, I just use USPS 1st class, sometimes Priority Mail because I do 10-20 pin trades in the mail, and it is cheaper in a $5.15 box than an envelope.

If you don't want to pay to use stamps.com, call them up and threaten to cancel. I did. When I told the gal that I primarily mail small packages and it wasn't worth the $15.99, she offered it to me for free! So give them a call. It doesn't hurt to try.

Surprising. I have never had any telemarketing calls from them. I think they work great, especially for international first class packages. I look at the cost this way. If you ship an average of 16 pin packages a month, you get your $15.99 pack in the free delivery confirmation and 5% savings on postage.

I have NEVER encountered any difficulty in purchasing USPS FIRST class postage online. And I've used the USPS web page for almost 10 years now.

You do not get a DISCOUNT on First Class postage, they save that as an incentive for the Priority mail and higher level products.

I use the paypal/shipnow service. It costs me $1.64 for first class and delivery confirmation. I can send to anyone in the us with it. I do have a small scale that I bought at Wal-mart for about $20. I figure it has saved me at least that much in gas and aggravation from the post office already.

I use Paypal even for zaps or trades when there is no payment involved at all and it works for me.

After logging in, on the right hand side there is "My Account Tools" under that the first link id "multi-order shipping"

Click on that (it says "multi-order" but works for single shipments as well) . There will be a new window opened and you will see a message saying "Paypal is launching ...."

In the middle of that new window, there will be a blue box. In that blue box select the "Create" option and fill in the blanks such as service type, weight of your package, name, address ....

I think it is $1.98 for 2-3 oz w/ delivery confirmation.

You have to click few times and bear with an extra window, but it works and it is free. It is only for US though.

I use paypal multi-order shipping and i have a dymo label printer that works well

additionally, I also have Endicia for other shipments and international shipments (it prints the forms and everything, so i dont have to go to the PO for int'l stuff.)

I went with endicia over stamps.com because the monthly fee (IIRC) is a bit cheaper. ($10 vs 15 for the lowest stamps.com sub, i think?)

just a heads up..if anyone dose a lot of Ebay or other online sales. ShipWorks is a good program. It takes the info from your sale and fills out the shipping info. Just a few clicks and u are done.
