If pin A of unknown edition size has 10 traders and 70 wanters and pin B of edition size 2000 has 15 traders and 79 wanters, would you consider that a fair trade?

Add this into the mix:

Pin C of edition size 300 with 29 traders and 91 wanters.

Would any of these be fair for 1-1 trade. Would one person get the better deal?

I want PIN A. I have both PINS B & C for trade. But person is asking for me to include another pin of lesser value with either PIN B or C.

Does this make sense?

Wow, maybe it's just me but those numbers make me think that asking for another pin is a bit unfair. Trading Pin B or C for Pin A should be good enough on it's own. Pin C even more so, in my mind, because it has a far smaller edition size. Of course, it could also depend on the pin itself, some people are partial to certain characters more than others, but if it's just a matter of value based on edition size alone then I don't think you should have to include another pin. Just my two cents.

The edition/wants/trades numbers by themselves do not tell the entire story, so it is difficult to say. Even if you were to tell us the specific pins that are involved, there are so many subjective factors that come into play that you would probably get different answers from different people. If the trade makes you and the other person happy, then go for it. If you think you will have trader's remorse, then don't.

And remember, there are nine other people who have pin A so maybe you can make a better trade with one of them.

+1

everyone values pins differently!

I agree that people value pins differently. Trader used only trade/want ratio when offering. But stated my pins not as WANTED as his. I just disagree based on trade/wants only. JMO

well it depends really because since it is a unknown open size it could be something like this Pin 80294 which even thought is an unknown open size it is quiet valuable since people had to be there at 6am to be able to buy these at this free event.

maybe if you want to mention the pins we could give out our opinion more firmly(not like that will make you think differently) since we could look at other actors like original price, date release, and most important, character and uniqueness of the pin. :)

hope everything works out for you, all i have to say at the end is that is the trade doesn't make you happy and u will have a bitter taste taste about it then don't do it. :)

For me it depends on how much you actually want the pin if its a must absolutely have then you do whats asked if its not then maye you pass.

Yes, if you could share the pins that are part of this pin scenario, we might be able to help more. :-)

I think it also depends on how much the other person wants the pin that you are offering. If not so much (not a favorite character, etc.) then, even though the trade/want ratio might be high (more people wanting than trading), then that person might not value the pin as high as you do. I know when I am trying to make a partial trade/partial sale, if I don't value the pin that I "want" (but not really, just to try to make something work) very high so it would take me another pin or two to complete the trade/sale (regardless of the original cost or trade/want ratio).
