Opinions on a trade offer

I'm new to pin trading and want to get some opinions on this offer. My first inclination is that it's not a good trade.

They are offering

Pin 67198: WDW - Hidden Mickey Pin 2008 Series III - Fast Pass Series - Toy Story Midway Mania

They want

Pin 48593: WDW - 35 Magical Milestones - 2000 - Millennium Celebration

I'm thinking giving up an LE 2500 for a Hidden Mickey isn't a good idea. Even though its not a low number LE, having the possibility of scrapper/counterfeit with the HM makes me wary. I feel like I could definitely get this HM for less. I'm also thinking I'd generally only trade an LE for another LE, or more than one pin.

As I mentioned, I'm new to trading, so don't laugh if it's obvious.

Am I anywhere close to being on the money with my thoughts on this?

Personally, I would say no thank you, as my rule of thumb is Hidden Mickeys for Hidden Mickeys, but as others will tell you, it is up to how bad you want the pin offered. I recently caved on a trade that I thought was out of sorts value wise, but I wanted the other pin enough where it made me trade something I thought was higher in value

Agree with both you and B2. I wouldn't do it. There is clearly no shortage of these pins for trade. I also usually subscribe to the HM for HM trade unless it is something incredibly hard to come by. The pin you are wanting is not.

Maybe send out a few trade requests of your own for this pin?

I agree with what you are thinking. It is obvious that it is not worth it to you, so then you should not do it. Youhave to be happy with the outcome.

I personally would not do it either.

Furthermore, when it comes to trading, I've found that you really should listen to your instincts and that 'gut' reaction, which nearly always is right. If a proposed trade seems 'off' somehow or too good to be true, it probably is. Never make a trade unless you are 100% comfortable with it and never trade if the other person is pressuring you into making a trade. Always remember that a polite 'no thank you' is just acceptable an answer as a 'yes, I'd love to make this trade, please,' but only trade if you are totally, 100% comfortable and happy with the trade as it is negotiated/proposed.
