Pictures and tidbits from Mickey Circus
Hello everyone,I am posting a link to my album of Mickey's Circus pictures, I haven't edited it, so I apologize for that, but I figured you guys would want to see them as soon as possible, I will edit it as I recover from this 5 day trip to WDW and Mickey's Circus.
I will tell you these important tidbits.
It all started on Thursday morning, during early registration the day before the event. When I arrived at 10:30 there were already about 100-150 people in line waiting for early registration to open at noon. Of course, we had to spend that time trading in line and sharing our excitement while we waited. Once they opened the doors, the lines quickly moved and you will see what it looked like in some of the pictures in my album.
We proceeded to meet a couple of people that were waiting for us with smiles and a cheerful attitude. They checked our id's and got our packages and some of our gifts. We received the Main event Gift Jumbo pin and the early bird pin, as well as the gift cards and the coupons for breakfast and dessert events. I had a surprise in my packet, I had been randomly selected to participate in a game that was to take place Friday at 1pm. All it said was that it would be a "match game". (I will gladly share how this went if you are interested )
Once we had all our goodies, we were told that the trading room where the PTN would take place, was open to us, so we could grab our tables and start trading at NOON! wow, we traded for 9 straight hours!
Got some cool grails that you can see in some of our pictures, then left at 9 to our hotel room. I was so excited, I could hardly sleep.
Friday morning we arrived around 7:30 am at Epcot for Breakfast, only to find about 400 people had already lined up and we were at the very end of the line. No big deal, we were all so excited to be there. Once the doors opened, some people ran to the store, while most of us ran to line up for the boards. The lines toon about 20-30 minutes to go through, it was fun, everyone was so excited and full of energy that the time went by really fast. I can't comment much on breakfast as I sent my daughter to grab me some fruit and a drink as I could not wait to see what these boards were like.
I was not disappointed, I was able to get about 6 AP pins during the breakfast time. Once breakfast was over and the crowds allowed in, the lines became longer, I would say average of 45 minutes. Many people just grabbed tables and started trading. The ambiance was so magical, they had several screens showing cartoons, and shorts at some of the lines, they had spinning boards, which I didn't like since the area you got to pick from was really small compared to the regular boards. I think all together there were between 6 and 8 lines of boards, I didn't really count so don't quote me on that.
I won't bore you with the embarrasing details of my participation in the game at 1pm, but I will tell you that I received a bag full of cool gifts. I got a pin bag, a jumbo princess pin in its box, several pins in their original packaging, a frame to put pins in with the picture of Cindy's castle, a collector's boxed set from last year's event, with two pins in it. (great! once more thing to collect), a lanyard, gosh so many other things that I can't remember them all, but you will find a picture of these items in my album as well.
On Saturday, when we arrived, we were greeted with wristbands and they would not tell us what they were for. All they said was: There will be a special Pin Talk at 1pm that you wont want to miss, some special things will be revealed and the magic ends at 4pm, so make sure you don't miss it.
Well, shortly before 1pm we noticed boxes being brought in by the managers to the store area. Everyone rushed to get in line, yes, even though we had wristbands. Many people, approximately 100, did not get wristbands because they were late to the event.
We then received talks from representatives from DLRP, DL Tokyo, DLR and WDW. Their talks were about the pins that were expected to be released.
Once they were done with all of that, they started talking about next years event, and told us that since next year was 2013 what better theme than FRiday the 13th!
The event will feature our favorite villains and the Friday 13th theme.
Apparently, the villains are planning an attack on the kingdom and there will also be heroes represented that will be there to rescue the day.
To start us off they decided to release a monthly pin featuring a villain, and then they revealed the surprise release.
The first of 13 countdown to the event villain pins. The pins are LE 750, and that's why only 750 of us got to purchase one that evening.
The first pin features Cruella Devil, and the next 12 pins will be released on a monthly basis.
The boards were great, we got many brand new unopened boxes of Japan pins that were LE 800, and of course many AP pins.
The mystery villain set was a big hit at the event, they released 13 villain pins and 13 chasers for each villain. The chasers are LE 100.
The other popular item were the elephant pins that were found only on the boards, and were a limited release to only the boards at this event, there are 6 pins featuring, Mickey, Minnie, Daisey, Donald, Pluto and Goofy. There is also an LE 100 completer pin to go with the set. Each pin has a magnet that helps connect each elephant and chaser to the other pins. I have to admit, originally I didn't think they would be cute, but these pins really are well made and they are cute when put together. I was too busy at the boards and being distracted by everything and unfortunately missed my opportunity to purchase my completer pin before it sold out, but my daughter at least was able to get hers.
Alexa and her "Man Thing" came over to our hotel/villa and went swimming and went over most of our "finds" that night until 3am, then got up early on Sunday and headed back to the parks, only this time to enjoy the parks themselves.
Attached you will find a picture of the Countown pin as well as the elephants and chasers.
Enjoy,
Mahrii
