I was wondering what your collection size was? Mine is pretty small and all as I live over 2000 miles away and I'm only 16 so buy my pins with birthday and Christmas money... And sometimes use money from my minimum wage job LOL. But I was looking at people's pinpics and saw they had a few hundred! How do you get so many pins?!?!? I'm jealous!

I only collect one film and live in england so im pretty small, its in my siggy how many I have I forget. Im very happy with what I have though and have been exceptionally lucky :)

Haha thank you :) I think the hard part is its all one film... I dont trade much anymore because no one seems to have the little suckers xD I just stalk ebay.

My wife and I both have really well paying jobs so we spend lots of money on them. We each have a over 1500 pins in our collections and last I checked about 1200+ traders. All it takes is an obscene amount of money. Yes we are addicted and have a problem. On the other hand it is a great way to meet people from all over the world!!!

We don't have a ton of pins, but I think at this point we are close to 200 (but that is for four people all with various collections and some of our collections are shared). We have been collecting for over a year but only seriously over the last few months. I can tell you since we've gotten serious we have spent a lot of money on pins. You could purchase 100 traders from some people for under $200. But while you would have a higher quantity collection, that doesn't necessarily mean you have a quality collection, KWIM? I have not figured out the secret of building a quality collection without spending a significant amount of money. Perhaps, if you have good friends that will buy LE pins for you at cost, or sell at very good prices, but being so far from the parks it may take a while to develop those kind of relationships. I think that's a really cool hobby for a 16 year old and if you just pick up pins as you can eventually you will find yourself in a position with more disposable income to purchase more of the pins you want.

I have a total of 67 with both my keepers and traders combined; 30 are in my collection. Many of mine have been zaps from some amazing and kind friends! A few were from friends who I sent them money to get me some when they went to get pins...usually at cost plus shipping. I managed to get a few off eBay over the almost two years I have been collecting; two were from my bf, and one with the help of a wonderful and patient friend who I am trying to paying back as funds allow. I have had quite a few obstacles in life the past year, including currently being unemployed unfortunately, so without the help of some outstanding people, my collection would be at a halt for a bit. Just saying, it does take time, but your collection will grow with time and patience. :) Just enjoy the hobby and all the extraordinary new friends you make!!! :D I also managed to find two at thrift stores!!! :D It definitely takes time, especially for those of us who are financially challanged and live what seems like a million miles from where they are released!

I live in the UK and my collection is around the 1000 mark. I've been collecting on and off since pin trading was first introduced when I was at WDW in 1999.
Mostly I have been lucky that my parents (when I was a teenager) bought me pins quite a lot before eBay became saturated with scrappers. Now I work it does seem that quite a lot of my wages go on pins; they are my main hobby  I do try to trade, but then again living in the UK you sometimes have to buy good traders to get started in the first place.
I have about 300 traders, some of which is stuff I've pulled from my collection over the years & other stuff specifically bought to trade.
So that's where I am after 13 years or so; so with time, patience & a little expenditure your collection will grow. However as I've said before, don't rush, take time to enjoy your pins :)

I have 780 pins as I have duplicate PODM pins in my collection and 195 pins for trade (again, a few duplicate HMs and limited editions). I have a nice husband who is understanding (not a pin collector himself). The sad part is, I started collecting last year and spent way too much. I have slowed down since then. I live relatively close to Disneyland, and I can go to the Soda Fountain when I am interested in the pins that are for sell. I go to Disneyland about once a week, and I am able to attend every Thursday if I am interested in the limited edition pins that are being released.

I live in the UK and I get most of mine off eBay or sale threads on here. I also go to the parks once a year (sometimes twice) so I tend to pick up quite a few when I'm there :)

I have 341 pins!
