Pin I am Selling on eBay
And then he would not ship and then I would have to file with Paypal, etc etc. Why invite trouble & heartache?

I left negative fb though but felt awful about it later.

Don't feel bad about it! That was totally wrong what the seller did to you! They really should not have put you in that position- so unfair of them!

Hope everything works out for you on your auction, Marcia!

** Marcia ** I sincerely hope that you get paid. Please do give us an update when you have one. Best of luck!

Jill, your seller was so creative if that is really an excuse. But then again, depends on his/her location. Do not forget in FL someone broke into Mackenzie's car and of all things, stole her graduation reports/paperwork thinking it was a laptop. Almost 10 yrs ago, in an underground parking lot near LA's Taper-Ahmanson our car got broken into around X-mas time. We had kept all of our shopping bags in our trunk, there was NOTHING visible inside the car.All of our X-mas shopping was gone and we did not even notice it until after midnight when we went home much later. Miss Saigon will always have a special place in my heart, lol!

My seller sold one lot, only one wonderful lot of SB pins. It was easily 2-3 times worth the final auction price. I am puzzled why the Ebay re-sellers did not come in to grab it from me. For whatever reason, nobody placed a bid after me, I think there was just one bid before me at the opening price. Go figure!

Probably he did not want to part with it due to the low price. He told me that he was selling his pins to make rent, but decided to keep them due to seller's remorse. His buy-it-now price was $250, I don't know how one could make rent with only one auction for $250 and after the fees he would be left with way less than that.I won the auction for way less than his BIN price though.

Oh well .... At least he was straight forward in saying "I do not want to sell". I don't like it, but I can appreciate being straight forward about that.

Those were old pins and (s)he must have been a Sleeping Beauty Collector like me. What made me sad was that (s)he easily could have been part of a pin community like this one at some point and I left neg. fb in anger and disappointment. Later, I felt like I was backstabbing one of us Maybe I am too emotinal, lol!

Well it seems you are prepared and ready for the worst.
I would just sit back and relax. Who knows, what if it goes through as planned? I expect to see you jumping through the air!!! lol

Hi Everyone--

Here's the update (so far)...so I been patiently waiting 2 days for the payment which I still have NOT received. I sent a message to the buyer to see what is up and notifying them to please kindly pay for the item and I will ship out ASAP. So, just until this morning, I still haven't gotten a payment nor a message. I took a look at the buyer's feedback once again to see if anything has changed and I found out as one of the sellers left a feedback it turns out the buyer bought the same Sc-Fi "The Claw" pin for "Buy It Now" for $19.99 on August 25th. I am very upset and I am going to give the person a few more days and if I hear nothing back from the person I am going to report to eBay once again and notify them the situation.

This whole eBay seller sickens me right now that they would even do this if they weren't serious about bidding. I wish they would at least be decent and answer me instead of "ignoring" me if they are because that's childish!!

I will keep you all up to date on the situation but so far....nothing is looking good... I AM JUST VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED right now

Did you set a payment time frame in the auction? i allways state that payment is expected within 3 days of auction end and on the 4th day a nonpaying bidder claim is automatically filed by ebay which gives them 4 days to pay. if they dont, i get my fees back and the item is automatically relisted for me.

okay - so I just checked on this item on eBay and noticed that the first bidder (n***d) is noted as "Not a Registered User". So, I would assume that the winner would be the high bidder, only the winning bid would now be $17.50.

..and that's a very good price for that pin..

I would think that eBay would be able to check the IP address of n***d and see if they have other accounts on eBay with that IP address..

That was quite the roller coaster eBay experience

UPDATE 8/27:: After numerous of messages to the buyer I sent him this message Please pay for the item. I have already sent an invoice. If I dont hear from you on August 28th I will report to eBay and you will most likely get banned and supsended from eBay with your account.

and I got a reponse today from the person all the person said is

"k"

:eek2:

UGH eBay how I hate thee!!!

..so what's happened?? Have you been able to talk to someone at eBay? The bidding on this item seemed quite screwy.. It seems that the 2nd highest bidder was a fake (not registered - now how can that be with 241 feedbacks??). Would that mean that their bids get withdrawn? I wouldn't think that the $308 bid would be binding in this situation. An eBay admin should get involved. Let us know how this turns out..

My guess is that the second high bidder requested to cancel their account on their own after Marcia's auction ended. I also guess that the high bidder and second high bidder are the same person and for some bizarre reason, that person picked Marcia's auction to mess with Now, the high bidder will get one strike, but if he/she had a nice & clean history with Ebay, just one strike is not good enough to get suspended from Ebay.
Marcia, you know that you can request a user's info (full name & phone number) from Ebay, right? I am just curious if this person is someone you might know already.

It could be someone who also has the same pin listed or will be listing the pin at a BIN. By having your auction go so high, it bumps the value of their pin, or makes their BIN look like a good deal. Could also be to scare off potential bidders who may have won the pin for less than their BIN price. Either way, it's a dirt thing to do.

Good luck, Marcia.

My guess is that the second high bidder requested to cancel their account on their own after Marcia's auction ended.

You can't cancel an account that soon after your last auction ended. If it happened that quick they were booted by Ebay. I am not sure how long the waiting period in the US is, but on German ebay it is 180 days after your last transaction.
