Pin Trading Night (PTN) Pins?

Okay, so I have a couple questions.

I've been to a couple PTNs, but I've never bought PTN pins. I know the next one is a Duffy as Santa Claus pin... and I think it's pretty gosh darn cute, so I'm planning on getting it... either for my own collection, or to trade.

My questions -

• When do I buy a PTN pin? Do they start selling them on the day of a Pin Trading Night, or before?
• Where do I buy a PTN pin? Do they only have them inside the park, or can I buy them at Downtown Disney/WOD?
• Is there a limit as to how many PTN pins one person is allowed to buy? (Just curious - I personally wouldn't buy more than one.)
• Are all PTN pins LE 500, or is that just this particular pin's edition size?
• How long do the PTN pins usually take to sell out?

I'm also incredibly confused because I heard that there is no PTN at DLR this December.
Then... Why is there a pin?

I can imagine the hullabaloo if WDW got an extra pin.
Us pin traders are a whiney bunch, aren't we?

On the FB page, Disneyland just announced they are now giving away free buttons to people going to Mickey's Halloween Party, and everyone (including me) is super bummed and whining because they didn't give buttons out to those of us who went to MHP between the beginning of the month and now. :rant:

How DARE they deny us a free button! Huh?

So... Back to pins... We get a pin but not a PTN? Then, when and where do we buy the PTN pins?

I have only bought one PTN pin (well four of the same kind) and I only saw it at the Pin Trader's store at DTD (where they will do the PODM release tomorrow).

They start selling the day of. If you're lucky and find a cast member working the register outside (there are 3 registers), you can queue up in that line and the cashier will go inside and get the pins.

So each resort has an equal amount of pins released for the year and WDW doesn't get an extra pin beyond what DLR gets. It makes it more equal/fair for trading.

LOL Can you imagine the howls of protest "WDW gets an extra PTN pin! Why doesn't DLR? That's not fair!"

So everyone gets the same amount of pins released even if the events are over for the year at DLR.

WDW gets an extra pin trade night! We only get the pin!!!!

PTN pins release day of ptn. IDK about WDW, but at DLR I usually pick mine up at the pin store in DTD by the monorail.

OK, now I'm confused...will the PTN pin be available at stores on the morning of Nov. 2, or will they start selling it at the actual PTN at 4 p.m.??
